We went for wine and cheese on Thursday. The experience was amazing but the only thing which was disappointing was they only serve beef. There wasn’t anything for non beef eaters like us They should have some other options as well. But good place to visit with your gang.
Excellent place to have a drink! They have a cheese and wine buffet on some day. I normally don’t like goat cheese but the waiters really know what to recommend and they made me love it! The place is cozy and beautiful. I would definitely recommend it.
Disappointing!I was here with some friends and we tried their special offer for Thursday Grape and Cheese buffet from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Entertainer 200AED/pers 1+1 free. As I already tried grape and cheese night in another restaurant and I really enjoyed it, I said that I should do it again. The location of La Cava it is in Rosewood hotel, and that area it is pretty nice. Restaurant looks great, with all types of wines displayed, and with the intimate light, it gave you a cozy feeling. The problem was the space, as we were 5 persons, they suggested us to stay in cigar room, which was kinda far from the buffet where the wine and cheese were supposed to be. Eventually they helped up with a table near the buffet. They had various types of red wine, 4 types of white wine and one bottle of rose. The rose one was really great, but such a pity that there was only one bottle. The cheese buffet, which wasn’t a buffet, was really disappointing. They brought us after 40 min from arriving individual platters with 5-6 types of cheese and 2 crackers, no nuts or some dried fruits. It is not very pleasant to eat all that cheese with only 2 crackers and nothing else to combine. We were expecting to be a cheese buffet actually, because even when we booked the table they confirmed the same thing. But at the restaurant the manager told us that Thursday night it is not a buffet anymore. Anyway, they said it is unlimited wine and cheese, so we asked for another plate for each of us, and if it was possible to add some nuts and dried food. First, they told us that it will be chargeable each extra plate, after a while they told us that we can order 2 more, but finally they brought us 3 plates, after another 40 min. About the staff I can say that it was very unprofessional. They forgot to bring us cutlery and napkins, they were slow with each and every request. Before 9:00 pm they took all the bottles of white wine (which we were drinking), without telling us if we would like to have another glass before closing the open bar. I’ve been to many buffet restaurants with drinks, and all the time with 15-30 min before closing they informed us, in case that we would like some other drinks. Also, they brought us the bill, without asking for it, even the restaurant was closing at 1:00 am, so maybe we wanted to order something else.Now, why I gave 2 stars. By reading the entire review you can understand that we had to ask for so many things which were supposed to be provided in the first place. Even if it’s an entertainer offer, or you are ordering a la carte, the service should be the same. This restaurant it is located in an 5* hotel, so you are expecting the best from the waiters and managers. Wines and cheese were good, but unfortunately the service made the entire experience an unpleasant one.
This place is in the Rosewood hotel, and creates the ambiance of a wine cellar – which is what it is! However, it goes beyond just wine tasting. Great place to spend an evening with friends. You only have to like wine – you do not have to be an expert. There are wines to suit everyone here. There is also a well stocked cigar lounge as part of the cellar
