I was there many years ago.. I can not say the bar is good but ok because I leave near by. To much crowd, place too small too much girls? @#$ which I do not like it.. They were playing classic Russian or western song and was good, good snack and chill beer. So I am really enjoying my self or sometime with my Italian or Indian friends here. Only beer and snack for chill out.
This place always had & still does have a reputation for being a shady little joint, tucked away in the mezzanine level of the Dana hotel in TCA. They did a renovation there last year, to make the interiors cleaner & better lit. The bartenders/servers are old timers & they recognise their regulars fairly well. I only used to visit the place for beers, but after the renovation, I’ve had a chance to sample some food – fish fingers, prawn cocktail, spring rolls & chicken wings. The only item I was disappointed with was the chicken wings. It was served like a dry fry, not tossed in a sauce as juicy chicken wings should be. It was also over fried, to the point where the coating was browned to an unappetising shade. The spring rolls are passable. The fish fingers were nicely breaded & moist inside. The prawn cocktail was the surprise show-stealer for me. It was quite well presented for a small outlet like The Trap, and the dressing tasted good! They have a nightly band that plays upbeat music.
