Food is reasonably priced yet not that great in taste but their drinks are ridiculously expensive. AED 25 for a 250 ml bottle of any soft drink! AED20 for a bottle of water! Our bill came up to 300 of which 150 was for water and soda alone!

We went to Azur at Al Raha, for a group dinner and the location was a half way meeting point for our guests. We walked to Azur and were immediately welcomed by our beautiful and friendly server Sibyl. We opted to sit in the garden as the evening views overlooking the Circle Building/Al Dar HQ and the weather was quite nice. For starters we got the Crispy Calamari which was a nice shareable portion and the Eggplant Melanzane which came out the size of a small individual portion but was enough for everyone around the table to have a tasting bite. The calamari was done really well and the eggplant was beautifully savory and cheesy. For mains we ordered the Pizza Azur (spicy chicken and sun dried tomatoes), The Pizza Stagioni (turkey ham, mushrooms, artichokes and olives), the Chicken Penne Pasta (Creamy and nice), the Sea Bass (fresh and cooked to flaky perfection), the Chicken Milanese (grilled chicken breast coated with Parmesan, also extremely good) and the Lasagna (homely, well textured and filling). All the dishes were really good and had good reviews by all in the group. The pizzas are a decent portion size of 8 slices and quite ample to share. We also tried their Tiramisu for desert which was lovely, light and fluffy but not necessarily tiramisu in the truest sense. We heard that the Black Stone grill is the dish to try here but given that we were in a group we did not opt for it this time but are hoping to stop by again soon to give it a try. The service was great and Sibyl and Assistant Manager Daryl were very attentive and made some excellent recommendations. We had a really good time so also requested for the chefs to be called out so we could thank them personally for the good food.Given the good experience we had, I was honestly surprised that there are not more reviews for this restaurant. Perhaps the location in Raha works for and against the, given that it is a bit out of the city and in a hotel that is a tad difficult to access. None the less, we quite enjoyed the setting, the ambiance, the food and service at this restaurant. Do give it a try if you are in the area and/or are looking for something relaxed, casual and away from the hustle bustle. We didn’t take any pictures as sitting outside meant dimmer/darker lighting.
We went with a group of friends for a wine dinner at Azur and we had a wonderful experience. it was a 5 course menu with wine pairing. Food and wines were Excellent. All the dishes tasted are on their new menu that was launched in this occasion. I personally enjoyed the arancini, foie gras risoto and braised brisket, not to forget the delicious tiramisu, one of the best I had since long time.wines were excellent and some of the best value I ve seen on this market. Special mention for the Refosco Paladin and the Passerina Poderi dei Colli both bellow 200 AED per bottle.Congratulations to the team as service was perfect. Forgot to mention about their terrace where we had dinner which is one of the most pleasant and perfect for romantic dinner.highly recommended, we will come back soon.
Azur has changed drastically they have limited their menu and the service is horrendous we eventually left and no one even noticed that we had left the worst part is that there food is not up to par and it is overpriced and I’d rather go spend money on quality food instead of of being treated badly and I thought that Azur was supposed to be a 5 star restaurant. I’m not trying to be negative but there are things that need to change. We came for my birthday in July of last year and it was spectacular but since returning you can notice the lack of effort and care. All I’m saying is change the things that have let azur down
Absolutely horrendous service and staff. I have to start my review with this statement. Nothing else can qualify our experience. The main waitress in a suit and heels (which made a lot of noise) was just not welcoming. We ordered water and beers, she did not keep enough water glasses and when requested she said but they are having beer. What kind of training is this. She had no clue about the Italian menu she was serving. She was barely even coming to our table. She spent her whole time on the phone at the front desk.It took 45mn to get a set of cutlery and napkin, 50mn to get served our food. Although the place did not seem that busy. Our first course which was a soup arrived with our main courses. After having so much time to kill waiting for our food, we guessed that this kitchen is a central kitchen for their other bars and room service. Staff was just coming in and out. Which I have to highlight only one waiter out of the 15 waiters that walked in the kitchen, followed basic food hygiene rules of wearing a hair net when you enter the kitchen no one else was wearing a net. We also noticed one of their waiter eating directly from the plate he was about to serve. He adjusted the fries and put some in his mouth from the kitchen service counter where everyone including the guests could see him. We were horrified. Unimaginable from such a high standard resort. The kitchen was just working hard piling up ready plates for service. We could observe steak and fries : items that need to be served to the customer quick in order to be served hot. The dishes were just left on the counter sometimes for more than 30mn. Staff including the main head waitress were just passing by looking at it and ignoring it.The only saving grace and I would like to give a special mention to their cooks and kitchen staff. They worked hard entire time, impeccable uniform but unfortunately the food was average, not authentic Italian but ok. The sides overall were lacking salt and seasoning. This place is not worth and definitely not of the standard of this resort. I would not recommend specially after seeing how the service and staff serve the food, sometimes putting their hands in the plate and readjusting the food. The prices are quite high compared to the quality of the food. The chicken was left uncooked at the center and brocoli were just boiled plain with no salt.Go eat elsewhere avoid this place.
