After any hectic day or week I’d like to have something comforting, and my top pick would have to be couple shawarmas​ with a banana juice. This takes my memory back to yesteryear, growing up in Dubai, when Shawarmas just cost 2bucks (so did the juice) they used to be gooey and without fries.This cafeteria sure brings my memories back, and quick too as they’re just a stones throw away.Simple comfort food.. enough said.
I’ve tried shawarmas from many restaurants in UAE. But Golden City is the one I go back to every-time I crave for this hugely popular delicacy. Believe me when I say that the taste has not changed for the past 5 Years that I have been in Abu Dhabi. Its been consistent except for the size/ quantity which has become smaller but really no complaints there. Its not a fancy restaurant but a small joint that can easily satisfy your junk food cravings. Also they strangely do not replenish the shawarma. So you’ve got to get there before 9.00 pm. Best spicy shawarmas.
