We are regular customers to Picnic Way. Nice place to have samovar Tea or “Naadan Chaaya” or Fresh milk tea. Few Outdoor seating available. Good place to sit have talks on various topics over tea and kerala snacks
Browsing on Zomato, I came across this one and decided to give it a try. I ordered chinese online but got a call shortly that the chef is not available. They offered biryani as was ready. Got one beef and a chicken biryani. The order was delivered promptly. Its always easy to find faults in any biryani but we were literally offended by what they sent us. The beef in the beef biryani were just bones without even a shred of meat on it (literally). 6 big chunks of these bones filled up the entire foil container with some rice covering them. The chicken biryani was confirmed to be dum biryani but turned out to be a piece to chicken with white rice with hardly any masala. Certainly not even close to what my understanding of a chicken dum biryani is. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one.
May’19 – I knew this review needed a rewrite as the store is run by a new team for many months now, and I’ve kinda got used to ordering from here so often which is probably why I forgot to update the review.I’ve been through many of their menu items, and honestly I’m quite impressed with the quality of the food more than anything. The food is flavorful too. I’ve tried the various breakfast items (Masala Dosa has to be my favorite), Tamil Nadu Biriyani is awesome (so is the Malabar biriyani), evening snacks are amazing, and for main course I often go for the Beef Korma and Beef Chilli (traditional Kerala style made by the older chef here).Overall, the food is good is terms of consistency and quality and decent value for money, but may be a little spicy for few.
