The Library is a handsomely decorated café / coffee shop at lobby level of the beautiful Park Hyatt on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. Its interior includes elements of, yup you guessed it, a library. It’s a cosy, comfortable place, ideal for enjoying coffee, afternoon tea and/or a light meal. I found their espresso slightly sour, but the cappuccino I had it replaced with, was spot on. Had the afternoon tea at the Library and as you would expect at a Park Hyatt, the ambience was guaranteed to be good. Albeit portions were relatively large, the food itself was surprisingly bad. The filling in the sandwiches were tasteless and thin, the sweets were equally unappetizing. The worst though, are the scones. Scones are the essence of a good afternoon tea, and I’ve honestly haven’t had scones this poorly done before. If you dunk a Popeye’s chicken biscuit in sugar, it can disguise as a scone better than these. Very disappointed. Park Hyatt, please up your afternoon tea game. It’s quite embarrassing to the brand.
Had afternoon tea at Library. The portion is quite big which you are guaranteed to be full. The cake and scone are nice. However there is room for improvement for the sandwich and coffee
