Tonight’s iftar was almost perfect, starting from the ambience, food variety up till the service (waiters).. up until we came to the payment; booking was under my name, I informed the waiter that I do have a group on coupon. He went off to adjust the invoice when “D” the restaurant’s front desk staff appeared telling us that it is not possible to use it as we had not informed them about it upon booking. When telling her that no one asked, she asked when was the coupon bought. I’ve told her that I bought it earlier today. With unshamed boldness and without even using the word “please” and a very blunt tone she has asked to check MY email to make sure (in other words doubting the customer who she is supposedly serving”. I refused and asked for the full bill. And then asked to speak to the manager, manager came and politely apologized on “her behalf” where as she disappeared out of sight. I have came to a 5* fine dining restaurant and not just any restaurant and I would expect a 5* service not accusation and an interrogation! The least that could have been done is send her back PERSONALLY to apologize (which never happened).Although everything else was perfect, this individual incident due to one of the staff having personal issues (looked to me like it was an act of racism) ended up the whole experience in a bad way.If you’re going for good food, the yes that’s definitely a good place but let’s hope you don’t bump into ”D”
