I dnt know why the name is 1897 bar because the ambience doesn’t take you back that far, in fact it looks very modern and swanky, located inside a five star hotel on Ajman beach. It was my friend’s birthday party, we all had a nice time. Service was good and they even changed a dish when we complained about its taste. Price is reasonable considering it to be a part of a star hotel like Kempenski. Ambience was relaxing with good music and taste of food was nice. Overall a good experience.
1897 is a great place to relax, listen to some live music and sip on a cocktail. The bartenders make excellent Martini’s. I would just like to say that there is a dress code (luckily I was wearing trousers) which you must adhere to when entering this bar! I had a great night and would definitely recommend coming back!
1897 bar is everything that it claims to be. Very retro and beautifully done, a two piece band playing the latest commercial music and mood lighting. Very lively for a Wednesday night. Priced well. The only thing missing was an elaborate snacks menu at the least. The menu comprised of 8 items which was very odd. Overall I loved the place. It’s a good change from a quintessential bar.
The name 1897 bar will give you an impression that it is set on the theme dating back to 19th century bars , but to be honest this bar is no way reflecting the things connecting back to the year 1897, (referring to the ambience and the music). But 1897 bar is truly set in an ambience which takes you back to those unforgettable days where all you can feel is the nostalgic memories of spending a great time with your friends. The ambience is very good and everything around you will be in good presentable manner. What can be spoiler for your mood is the choice of music specifically when there is no DJ or performance going on and how loud it will become at some point of time. But when they really switch on those disco lights focused at a particular place at the stage and people get onto their dancing shoes, it is like you’re in a completely different place. Now, to comment on the food, the food tastes good but is not justified with respect to the price at which they are offered,Firstly, the menu length is too small which consists of only 2 Item in Veg and around 6 items in Non-veg. Adding to your misery is finding what is Veg and what is Non-Veg and when the staff also can’t help you out.Secondly, the amount of time they take to prepare your food, you can easily finish 2 bottle of beers and start wondering whether you really ordered. So my final verdict: Great place to have drinks but only when they can offer more in their food menu and its service
