There’s a moment, a split second, when you have that first bite of something and your eyes open wide, dopamine floods your brain, and you immediately look at the person opposite you, telepathically sharing all these joyous feelings without a single word being said.I had one of those at the saturday brunch in Amalfi, when i ate a steak. Yes, a simple salt-and-pepper piece of tenderloin that was grilled to perfection, which you rarely come across in proper steakhouses, let alone a brunch.We were off to an excellent start.The rest of the appetizers were all good as well, but i was busy going around making friends with the BBQ chefs to give them any notice.Somewhere In between, a waiter was going around with a pizza. Yeah i’ll have a slice, thank you.Best decision i’ve ever made. Mamma Mia! They could teach pretty much every pizza parlour in Dubai a few things about proper tomato sauce. Other juicy meats include lamb cutlets and decent-size shrimp. Chicken, salmon and kebabs were on offer as well, so unless you idea of a proper BBQ includes hotdogs and burgers, you’d be spoiled for choices here. At 300dhs a pop its pricey, especially when it doesn’t include any beverages, or when the dessert is below par (its an italian hotel, why boring ice cream and no gelato?), but it’s worth a try.Gianni would be proud. Almost.

What I loved here is the taste of rich vanilla ice steam with broken pistachio pieces and caramel sauce. Cold salads are ok. Grill was also ok. But hot mezze is mediocre. Staffs are super friendly. Hoping just a little improvement on taste.
Great place for Saturday brunch
Saturday afternoon BBQs in Amalfi is a must regardless if you’re a meat or seafood lover or are craving for sweets just like I do:) Food is prepared right in front of your eyes and includes unlimited provision of red meats, poultry, fish, shrimps, vegetables and (hey listen up!) lobster.. with churros and ice cream to end it all. Another word of praise for the restaurant’s beautiful location inside the picture perfect Palazzo Versace hotel!
Amalfi restaurant located in Palazzo Versace east wing.. went there for the Saturday pool side BBQ which was absolutely great.. great food, very friendly staff, great ambianceVery wide options of grills (beef, seafood & chicken) as well as some burgers & side dishesTheir signature drink called levanzo which is some sort of iced tea that is very refreshing.Great value for money and will come back again
