I ordered biryani rice that came with big naan bread.
I have been traveling in and out of DXB for years and I have noticed that Dubai Airports has been trying to change their dining scene for a while with more restaurants and more choices for their passengers. Well speaking of The Daily DXB, I was seriously spoiled for choices, they have an array of cuisines ranging from American, Asian, Italian & Hawaiian. I wanted to try all of them but only got to try American and Italian this time. Speaking of the ambiance of this place, it is very lit for an airport restaurant. I simply loved to see the creativity and attention to detail. This is the first time I have seen a punching bag installed in a restaurant and it is right in front of the American restaurant called The Roost. I guess the whole idea is to portray the source of protein and energy we gain by consuming ‘FREE-RANGE CHICKEN’ , I saw a lot of passers-by punching the bag and I must say it is a great way to attract consumers, I was very amused by it and punched the bag a few times myself. 🙂 Talking about another thing which I liked is a very small detail but a very unique one indeed, I have not seen it in many places. Generally, when you go to a restaurant they put a paper on top of the tray, which is either plain or contains a lot of advertisements about what the restaurant is offering. However, in the case of The Daily DXB, they have done something really very creative with it, the paper which they put on top of their tray contains inscriptions which give you details about food in general, foodies, benefits of certain food and some history of food. The paper looks like a newspaper if you notice above where I mentioned about the punching bag, I highlighted ‘FREE-RANGE CHICKEN’ and while I was reading through those inscriptions after eating the chicken, I realized why the chicken tastes so amazing because it is free-range chicken. I am going to upload a photo of the paper with the inscriptions, I am not sure if you can see the photo as it might be against Zomato’s content policy and may be blocked. However, in case if you cannot see it on Zomato, kindly log on to Trip Advisor and you should be able to see it.Ratings and Comments:- Restaurant #1.THE ROOST 1. Chicken Tenders (5/5) – With the very first bite, I could feel the mix of flavors, I could not really tell what spices they have used but it blended really well with all the flavors and spices complimenting each other. There is a reason why they are called chicken tenders because they are tender and in this restaurant, they were juicy and full of flavor too. These chicken tenders could easily give a run for money to popular brands that make, sell and advertise chicken tenders. Fun fact – After I finished eating those outstanding chicken tenders, I realized why they are so good, as mentioned above with a little knowledge this restaurant gives you through inscriptions on their little paper on top of trays, I realized that I just ate free-range chicken tenders packed with a lot of flavors, which were bursting in my mouth. 2. Fries (3/5) – I am very particular about my fries and it is sad that the fries here are just average, I feel this place uses its potential to the maximum and will certainly do something to improve the quality of their fries the next time I visit.3. Chicken Burger (3/5) – My friend ordered this one but she gave me a small bite of it, honestly the chicken was amazing but I am not into chicken burgers, I feel a burger should be strictly beef patty. Now I am sure a lot of you might read this and find the chicken here to be good or just average, as DXB is a transit hub and there are people who come here from various continents, where they have amazing chicken, which I am sure might be better than this one. However, speaking as a Dubai resident who loves food and tries a lot of different food, this is as good as it gets when it comes to chicken tenders in this hemisphere and I certainly did not expect to find it in Dubai airport, out of all the places in Dubai.Restaurant #2.ST.MIA1. Chicken Pizza (4/5) – I have eaten a lot of pizzas in my life and honestly each one has a distinct flavor. However, this one was surprisingly good, thin crust, just enough cheese & toppings, what I really loved about the pizza was the herbs, I have never eaten a pizza with so many herbs in it, the twist in this pizza is the generous amount of Italian parsley. Fun Fact – I learned about a brief history about pizza in this place and again my source of knowledge was from those tiny inscriptions in the paper which looks like a newspaper. 2. Salad (4/5) – Fresh leaves, with cherry tomatoes, carrot and topped with parmesan cheese, the dressing was spot-on with just the right amount of balsamic vinegar.3. Arrabiata pasta (3/5) – Very average, not the best that I have had, I am certain you guys can do a much better job.Service (4/5) – Amazing staff, very friendly, polite and they know how to keep up a conversation.
