Jaffar Bhai’s “The King of Biryani” tagline perfectly suits this restaurant. I cannot believe I haven’t tried this restaurant up till now. The place is always packed, whether lunch or dinner, is always a good sign. It’s a fairly large place with ample seating area, and a separate family section where certain tables are sectioned off affording the diners privacy. The serving staff is polite and always smiling even when the restaurant is packed. We had initially come here for lunch to try the biryani and ended up ordering a few of the other daily specials. We got the Chicken Tikka Biryani. The biryani was long grain basmati and was very fragrant. In addition to the Biryani, we ordered Hare Mirch ka Keema. I have tried similar dishes in other restaurants before and this is surely one of the best I’ve had. It isn’t too spicy, even the diners at our table who prefer mild spices, enjoyed it. The Lucknowi Gosht Nihari was a bit on the oily side but very good. The meat was tender, and the gravy was just the right amount of thick. We also tried the Zafrani Sheermal, which went well with the Nihari and Keema. Having been a fan of Sheermal since my childhood I did feel it could have been a little sweeter but that’s down to personal preference. For accompanying breads, we ordered Roomali Roti and Tawa Paratha. They went well with the mains. Being stuffed to the hilt, we had little room for dessert, but the Maharani Rabdi looked and sounded too good to resist. It’s basically mini Rasgulla’s soaked in chilled Rabdi served in clay bowls. We also wanted to try the Mutton Khichra but they had run out by the time we placed the order. We went again later in the week just try out the Khichra as it seems to be one of their best sellers besides the Biryani. It was on the blander side when compared to their other servings but surely something I’d recommend, especially for diners who prefer milder offerings from the menu. All in all, surely a restaurant worthy of five stars. Will highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some good desi food. alldatglittersaintgold.wordpress.com

One of the key reasons what we came to JafferBhai’s was to try the Mutton Baida Roti and Triple Schezwan Pot rice. The Mutton Baida Roti is a snack that makes my mother reminiscence about her childhood days in Mumbai. The Triple Schezwan Pot Rice was catered in a party in my trip to Mumbai last year and I had loved it so much that I had asked the host as to where she had catered it from. The Mutton Baida roti was piping hot; it was fried perfectly and was crispy as well. The Triple Schezwan Pot Rice is a combination of fried rice, noodles, egg noodles and a thick red gravy packed with powerful flavors of Schezwan sauce accompanied by chicken and other veggies. Overall, both the dishes were quite heavy but tasty and delicious.

Everything what we tried in Vegetarian was absolutely delicious. The Aachari paneer had the smokiness and the flavour of pickles and also the main course was yummy. Paneer Lahori had the perfect blend of flavours and taste. It was just like home cooked food. Last but not the least, the desserts was like icing on the cake. Rabdi, rasamalai and shahi tukda was just amazing!

Just one word. Incredible! If you are a foodie and haven’t eaten here, it is a shame! What food! What service! Beyond words. Anything you order will reach you in under 10 mins. Don’t muss their Dum ki Chop (available on fridays) and their mutton bhuna. All their biryanis are good no matter which one you order. Absolutely do not miss their Shahi Tukda. It is to die for, and this comes from me who isn’t fond of sweets at all. All in all, go there, stuff yourself, go back home and take a nap for 3 hours!

Dined here for lunch on a weekday. I must say was very disappointed with the food. Read so many reviews of this place and was expecting biryani which would be made to perfection considering the price and all the hype.We ordered their Wednesday specials- Chicken Hyderabadi Biryani (36), Mutton Khichadi(37).The portion size was ok, but nothing to take you back there. Prices were not clear as the above was without VAT.One of the positive side services was prompt and a good ambiance.Overall I think they need to work on the food considering what they are charging.
