Visited this place on a weekday for dinner. Serving authentic seafood from the Vasai region of Mumbai, this place is a hidden gem and if you are a seafood lover you will definitely enjoy the food. We placed an order for the Vada Pav, Kanda Bhajiya, Sol Kadi, Kokum Sarbat, Bharlela Sarg (Stuffed Pomfret), Surmai Tava (King Fish Fried), Tandoori Prawns and Green Pomfret Curry. Pomfret and Surmai being my favorites of all time, the Bharlela Sarg, Surmai Tava, and Green Pomfret Curry did not disappoint at all. Super delicious and left me craving for more. Wash it all down with the Sol Kadi and you have a perfect meal. Can’t wait to come back here for some more delicacies, I’ve got my eye on the Bombay Duck!
Been wanting to try them out for sometime but somehow I would land up at a time when it’s super crowded! But this Friday I headed early afternoon and got to indulge into some authentic kholi food! Flavorful, good presentation, extremely friendly staff (not at all annoying) and clean place! Honestly they have put in real good efforts and it shows! Kudos to the entire team and thank you to Soni for a great experience! One of Dubai’s MUST TRY restaurant!
Farily new and underrated, Vasai Local deserves a lot more popularity.Tucked away not too far from the main road, this restaurant manages to serve Mumbai on a platter.Cutting chai with a whiff of ginger surely reminds you of the ‘tapri wali chai’ from back home.Tried the moong pakodas and vada pav, two of the more well know snacks in Dubai, but few get it better than VaLo.Kokem Sherbet here is bae. We ordered 8 glasses for a group of 4. Says something about it.When you visit, make sure to check for the daily specials – they are a treat. And if Harsh comes to attend you, you’re in for a ride. He will always suggest what’s hot, what’s new and the must trys making it a great experience
What a restaurant! Amazing from the get go! Great staff, very informative since they have a massive selection of seafood to choose from.A must try for fish and seafood lovers. No matter what you choose, you won’t be disappointed.Must visit!#ZomatoTuesdaysMariya Bootwala Murtaza Taz
The restaurant is mainly catering seafood, its decorated like the ocean, pretty adorable. The starters we ordered the fish platter which was really well made and the sol kadi was good as well. The crab curry was alright but I could taste the spice more that the flavour of the curry the same goes with the prawns curry it was just spicy which mellowed the actual taste of the curry.Otherwise the service was really nice and the people were pretty friendly.
Vasai Local is a fairly new restaurant in Karama which serves up a selection of Koliwada seafood (with influence from Maharastrian and Portuguese cuisines). I am not a fan of fish so this wasn’t my first choice but I’m always open to trying out new cuisines..We tried -Kolbi Fry – Prawns fried in Koli style (nice flavour but the prawns did not seem very fresh)Pomfret fry – Fish fried in a red spicy masala (Not bad)Chicken curry killa style – Koli style chicken curry with potato (nice gravy with mild spices)Green king fish curry – mild coconut and coriander gravy (star dish of the meal and a definite must try)Kokum drink – very refreshing and tangy made from a type of Mangosteen. Try it with soda (definite must try)..Overall the food was decent. The service was good and attentive. I guess if you’re fond of Koliwada/seafood then you must try out this restaurant
