    Small little cute eat out in Al Rigga.They have a variety of Srilankan Food. We went here for lunch and had a pretty nice experience.It is pretty crowded on Friday afternoons.We ordered the following.Chicken wings – they are fully fried and tasty. Nice one.Deviled Fish – It is a mixed of fish cubes marinated well along with veggies. Tasted pretty nice also has a sweet edge to it.Fried Prawns – This is also nice. The prawns taste good made in a spicy mix of onions, chillies and tomato. However, they are with the skin. You’d have to peel it.Chicken Koththu – This is nice and spicy. A mix of chicken and a few more veggies finely chopped. Goes well with chappati.Nasi Goreng – The Chicken Nasi Goreng was just amazing! Loved the flavor. Quantity is also pretty good.We also tried the snacks like a Fish bun from the display at the counter. It was nice.The ambience is decent and there is also parking available outside. foodieandthefeast.me

    CINNAMON TREE RESTAURANT: If you are happy to have spicy food you’d better really mean it and this is the right place. Mostly, they use similar ingredients to those used in Indian curries but with both pepper and chilli to give your curry an extra kick. Whatever you choose to eat here, your mouth is going to rejoice with happiness.We had some delicious appetizers and main course including-Triangular rotis : The triangular looking pockets are a form of roti filled with a range of different ingredients. Fish was my favourite filling, but there were also some nice vegetarian versions available. Instead of being deep fried like samosas, triangle roti’s are just skillet fried. Pol rotis: These are made with freshly grated coconut, flour, water and salt. They are made into balls of dough, flattened, and then cooked on a hot griddle. Even though any form of spicy curry sauce handles the task of being the dip for a delicious pol roti; the spicy marvelous flaky salty chili sauce and pol sambol goes well with it.Pol salmbol is merely a mixture of shredded coconut, chili powder or dried chilies, lime juice, red onions, and salt – and believe me, every bite is like a miracle come true.Rice served with dhal curry, wambatu moju, chicken dry curry and potato curry .This combo was just like a mini thali. Dhal curry, is the most common curry in all of Sri Lankan cuisine, a staple in any restaurant or household. Masoor dhal (split red lentils) are first rinsed and boiled until soft. Wambatu moju (eggplant/brinjals pickle) is an extremely flavorful candied eggplant (brinjals) pickles.String hoppers : String hoppers are made from a much thicker dough. The dough is squeezed through a string hopper maker, like a pasta press, to create thin strands of noodles, which are steamed. It was a very nice combination with spicy fish curry and chicken curry. Fish curry: usually something large and firm, such as tuna — is cut into cubes, then sauteed in a blend of spices including black pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, garlic, pandan leaves and curry leaves.Desserts:Watalappam: Steamed pudding made of coconut milk, jaggery, cashew nuts, eggs and spices. It was an amazing dessert. Caramel pudding: As we know its an international favourite and each country as its own version. This truly was delicious.Beverages:Wood apple nectar : The wood apple is a Southeast Asian fruit about the size of a de-husked coconut. It also has just as hard of a shell, and a pungent, almost blue cheese aroma.Ginger beer: A non alcholic beer, is a blend of ginger and lemon and the taste was super delicious.Cream soda: The taste was ok.The ambience was very cozy and welcoming. The interior was great with wall paintings , hanging lights etc . The staff were friendly. They also have outdoor dining arrangement with pool and the venue can be used for party and gatherings.I will definitely visit again to try their seafood delicacies.Eatwithafriya {Suren Rajamohan}

    My family and I were craving some authentic Sri Lankan food and we landed up just at the right place. It is a tiny place, with indoor and outdoor seating. Their decor was simple and has everything elephants, which was pretty to look at. We were given complimentary soups for starters and we ordered theString hoppers – Potato curry and Polsambal (Must try. The flavour in each of these items were perfect and all of these went together so well)Veg Kothu (This was good, but expected it to be more spicy)Kankun Garlic (A simple yet delicious dish)Wood apple juice (If you like wood apple, you’d like this one)The portions were good. The service was prompt and quick, in spite of it being a Saturday night. The staff were courteous. Pocket-friendly. Overall, a very good experience.

    Authentic Sri Lankan which can be modified as per your dietary requirements and warm hospitality is what this place is about!I enjoyed my experience here which started off with some juices, wood apple juice is my favorite and was quite unique. At this place, short eats (deep-fried) are must-have, perfect appetizers which range from AED 2 to AED 7, it left me craving for more! My mains consisted of the Veg choupsey and Egg Nasi Goreng, both delicious and flavorful! The last was definitely the best part, desserts! Wattalapam, jaggery based dessert in the form of pudding, is one of the tastiest Asian desserts I’ve had! I’ve never been a fan of jaggery cuz of its extra sweetness but here it was balanced and perfect.

    Follow me on Instagram – ash_foodomania ( Dubai food blogger) Sri Lankan Food goals happening !! For the first time trying out some Sri Lankan food in Dubai have been so excited to try them out .. coz as far as I know there are only few of the Sri Lankan restaurants in Dubai serving the authentic food .. visited them Evening time with few of my blogger friends along . The interiors was so vibrant in colors and lightings were they have graffiti look alike paintings on the wall and false ceiling was done perfectly with the hanging warm lights that gave it a cozy feel inside the restaurant. Coming to the food .. we ordered few fresh juices initially where I liked the wood apple juice which was something different to try out .. and now for the starters ( short eats on the menu) were they had chicken roll , egg roll , tuna cutlets , fish patties, lentil fritters served hot with ketchup It’s a must try out there .. its super yummy snacks they have .. Sri Lanka is a country that loves their deep fried snacks and so do they have a lot many varieties among .. Though Sri Lankan food has parallels to South Indian food, yet it remains distinctly its own form of cuisineThen for mains they did have both veg and non veg options I tried the chicken kothu which is much famous out in srilanka as they say .. it tasted too good too delicious carving more for it now !!! My friends had gone for veg choupsey ,egg nasigorang , prawn Biriyani, tiger chicken , fish ambul Thiyal For desserts we had the watalapan pudding which tasted similar to some South Indian jaggery ada So yeah loved the taste so much 🙂 Overall it was really nice being there for great food with really good companyWhatever you choose to eat at @cinnamontree_dubai your mouth is going to rejoice with happiness.Thankyou for having me over @cinnamontree_dubai Thankyou for the invite @surenrajamohan ..
