One more addition to the array of kerala restaurants in damascus street. This restaurant themed food from the ancient arakkal kingdom of kerala. Unfortunately they are still on a soft opening stage and theres not much on the menu..Welcome drink was a watermelon juice which was so dilute we did not like. We ordered the mushroom masala , kudukkachi chicken , ari pathiri , ney pathiri , puyyapla chappathi and porota. The mushroom masala tasted more chineese .Flavours of tomato sauce stoop up more on that dish. The kudukkachi chicken ordered by friends was a dish made on tawa and was told tasted good .Normally the kuddukachi dishes are made on clay pot.The ney pathiri ,ari pathiri and porota was tasty.the puyyapla chappathi was dry and was not at all tasty. The tea was good.
Malabar Makhan is located in the busy streets of Qusais, this place is beautifully designed to provide the best foodie experience with very well done interior and wide dining tables and couches to take your dining experience to a different level. The food we had Meen Pollichadu. It karimeen wrapped in Banana leaf with masala. The banana leaf adds more taste to the fish. A Must try. Kuddukachi Chicken is a tawa fried chicken , crispy and soft with the authentic malabar flavours. Their Nei Pathiri and Puyyapla chappathi was very good. They have the special Arakkal Biryani for lunch which I should try soon. The Tea was very good. Still in the soft launch the , very instagramable ambience and some authentic malayali food .
A newly opened restaurant in a very accessible location of Qusais at Damascus street. Head down here for someone who is craving to have authentic Kannur dish.Must say they have done a good job in having the ambience classy with good lighting and interiors. Also you can notice they have large tables which sets them apart from other restaurants where the food served have ample space to eat comfortably. They recommended us to try their famous Arakkal beef biriyani. And must say this was one delicious biriyani that I haven’t tried in Dubai as they serve freshly cut beef cooked super soft along with bones and not much oily compared to other biriyanis that I had. Must have for sure !Then we had Korean salad which came in a fancy designed presentation which was mainly peanut sauce flavoured. We were not much fan of peanut sauce in salad though. Also try out their Hammour chuttulli Tawa fry which is another favourite that is also recommended. This place also has amazing tea and snacks which is made just as we get from Kannur district of Kerala. We got to try Unnakaai , pazhampori and chicken rolls as snacks and among them Unnakaai is must have as this comes with different banana cashew filling as we get in Kannur apart from the usual ones here which used to be coconut. All in all a good place to have lunch and tea snacks. Definitely recommended and will come again for sure !Also once they launch they r getting gazal to be played as well it seems. Gotta be interesting. Thanks for tagging me along Ash_foodOmania – Dubai Blogger
