The best place I’ve ever been very friendly staff n really good place loved their food awesome and it was really tasty would love to go once again there.
One of the most delicious Ethiopian food I had in Dubai. Must try place. I loved the ambience, hygiene and the friendly atmosphere. I tried Zil zil tibs, red tibs, shiro with offcourse the enzera.
This was my and my brother’s first try of Ethiopian food and clearly it didn’t disappoint. Food was tasty and fresh. We ordered the Bonna Anne special non veg and the Special Tibs. The restaurant had a good ambiance and the waitress helped us choose the menu as we were new to the cuisine. I give them a 4 cause we were pretty satisfied with the taste and portion. Will be coming back for trying other stuffs from the menu.
If you’re a person who loves to try new things, you must try this restaurant!Authentic traditional Ethiopian food, you need to try this place! Food; All their food are healthy, the meat is super tasty, their special bread called injera is a must try! Basically everything on their menu is super! Not to mention, the price is very cheap too!Servers; very friendly and welcoming, and they help you in choosing what to take.Overall experience; Satisfied to the max!
Small authentic restaurant. The service was good and the food delicious. I recommend to visit it with an Ethiopian friend due to wide variety of options and different flavors present in this cuisine when comparing with occidental/Asian/ Indian food. Not the best option for Ethiopian food beginners a must for Ethiopian food lovers in Dubai.
Good portion and reasonable prices. Etiopian food with friendly staff.
Ok, so maybe I am prejudiced, or maybe I have zero knowledge on Ethiopian food, but Bonne Anne is something totally different from any cuisine you probably would have had, here in Dubai. Sure they have some items on their menu which sounds similar to the ingredients we usually use in our cooking, but its amazing how different ingredients when put together become something completely unrecognizable. Now since this is my first time venturing out to something completely alien to my palate, I went ahead and trusted the waiter (he was Indian!) to give us suggestions on what to order. He told us that whenever he has to, he eats one dish which he feels is palatable to our taste- the ‘Special Tibs’. Now, this dish is good for two, and when on a food adventure tour, it is best to try its and bits rather than knocking off the whole menu. Special Tibs is a large portion of beef strips slowly but lightly fried to give it a chewy, crunchy texture with minimal flavouring. The interesting item of the dish is their bread, which is called Injera (for a proud Mallu like me, I felt it is a lot like our ‘appams’) which is a thin cloth like bed of bread which is laid out on the plate, and the hot meat is poured onto it. So this chucks of Injera is ripped off and then eaten with the meat, which has accompaniments of a chilly dip sauce and an orange-brown curry-style sauce. I liked the beef and the curry sauces but the soft bread like sheet was too sour for my taste. So sour that after 3 bites, I couldn’t have more. The meat, we packed it up because without regular bread, I wouldn’t be able to eat it. Oh, and they brought some salad too with a tangy light sauce poured over it. I was already not in the chewy mood, so left it after tasting it. Salad wasn’t too bad!Service was fine, although the food took some 10-15 mins to get to us, it was ok, because we were sitting in awe of the little piece of Ethiopia we were at, and reveling in the guts it took us to get here. You may try but I would be a wee bit apprehensive to go again without an Ethiopian friend who would guide me to the right dish, next time!AED 30 for our beef strip laden dish 🙂
