Well as everyone mentioned in their comments Malak al Tawouk finally arrived to Dubai . Although I knew before I arrive to the restaurant that it will be very busy on weekend as a lot of people wanna give it a try , but couldn’t resist waiting for another week , as this is one of my favorite street food spots in beirut for years . With no surprise I arrived and as expected was very crowded but guys helped us to get a table in 10 minutes . The atmosphere and design of the venue is exactly same like any branch in beirut which gives you really a great nostalgia . Ordered couple items from the menu and received our food in 15 minutes which is not bad at all at that busy time . I had classic Tawouk sandwich Extra kbir, size of portion of course huge but I was disappointed with the taste ! It didn’t match what I was expecting or the reall Malak al Tawouk experience . Two things that these guys need to look at , put more chicken in the sandwich as I barely tasted any and they need to find out the very salty flavor which I doubted it either from the fries or the salad but it wasn’t a pleasant taste ! Also we had double cheese burger platter and it was really good except one important element , the bun ! Once I grabbed the sandwich in my hand the bun crashed , so definitely they need to look at some improvements here . Price wise I would say it’s normal and portion size is great . Location is perfect too straight at hessa street . In general I believe I’ll give it another try in couple weeks to see if anything changed for better as it’s still a new venue and am sure management will look into many improvements .
Another famous Lebanese restaurant has just landed in Dubai. I was very enticed to try it here since I hadn’t eaten there for ages. The restaurant was a little crowded around lunch time even though it was a weekday. However service was very swift it took nearly 10 minutes to get my order served. Taste was just as good as the one in Lebanon it just took me back to the streets of Beirut. Hope to see more outlets spanning across Dubai.
