Hotpot is like my go to Chinese place. Been to most of their branches and the quality of food has been consistently amazing. I’m never going to get tired of this concept. Cooking your own meal on the table and the sauce buffet. Can never get enough of dining here. In the last two months I’ve been to Hotpot atleast 6 times. Finding a parking at this outlet could be a little tricky though. Oh and yes, another thing to note while ordering is that you can ask for half plates of certain dishes. That helps you order more variety at a decent price.
Absolutely enjoyed the hotpot here. I wouldn’t say the food is Filipino its more Chinese, also run by a Chinese person. Best part about this place is that it’s open till late, we visited this place after a night out and even though we sat there so long (way beyond their timings) the staff there didn’t try to hurry us in to leaving. I will definitely visit again.
Delicious Fish Fish Restaurant – really? Give whoever named this restaurant a big, fat cigar. Wow! Because you know what? That’s what prompted us to go in. Curious? It’s a Chinese Hot Pot restaurant similar to Xiao Wei Yang, which funnily enough is opening its newest branch just around the corner. So while Fish Fish has this neck of the woods to itself, it should do well but I suspect once ‘Little Lamb’ opens it will steal much of its business away because as good as this place is, I didn’t find it any better than any of the existing Xiao Wei Yang restaurants. That said, Fish Fish is a decent option and has all the right elements including an extensive list of condiments to cook in the steaming hot pot of broth – one a fiery reddish colour and the other milky white – it’s not hard guessing which is hot and which is not. I found the red, chili broth too over-flavoured with Schezwan peppercorns. But the white broth was lovely.Thankfully there are people here who speaks English. I remember my first visit to Xiao Wei Yang in International City – Oof! No one spoke English. Service was very good but then we were the only ones in the restaurant. This is very much the hot pot season so if you’re looking for a little steamboat in Barsha you now know where to go. Personally, I can’t wait for the new Xiao Wei Yang to open to sample these two back-to-back – hmm.
