This place is a JOKE!!! Went there with my friend today so that we could enjoy the hot pot/grill and my friend can have her drinks as well. The moment you enter the bar, it’s empty and not even a single staff that we saw. We just walked in and have a look and saw a Filipino lady was in the pantry/kitchen side preparing stuff and did try to call but no response. As just before we were about to leave, we saw another staff was nicely SLEEPING ON THE SOFA just across the entrance door. Wasted our time to go there and end up leaving. Open from 12pm to 3am? Looks like open only after 7pm onwards. If there’s an option to give -5 I would have give them because 1 is actually too good for it

Joker RestaurantSocial Media, nowadays, makes so much impact to reader/viewers. I am a living proof that social media marketing can be very effective to many. While I was casually browsing through my feeds, I read past a post where they were dining at an outlet where they cook (boil and grill) their own food. I have always been thrilled by the experience, not necessarily of the food we eat. As many would say, when we eat, we eat with out eyes first before we even taste the food. So we went and tried Joker Bar at Signature Hotel Al Barsha. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of the hotel. On the same floor, you will find several f&b outlets -3 if I remember correctly. It was a small hotel however we were kind of confused where to go as there wasn’t a door that is close to Thai or Asian (general) design. Only to realize that it is called Joker “Bar” and so it does look like a bar.The ambiance plays a big role, I should say. The restaurant was small and when you enter you get a feel of a bar rather than a restaurant. The ceiling was too low, wall paper design has city lights pattern and there was a bar turned pantry. Upon entering the restaurant, you will find a billiard table right when you arrive. I was a little bit confused of the venue. The food selection is more than enough, but I will not say it is huge. For the amount we pay, it (food choices) is just right. Basically, the concept of the restaurant is unlimited hot pot and grill all you can. You pay an amount that will allow you to consume as much food as you can. Drinks are not included, you pay it separately. From the fresh meat such as chicken, beef, sea food were good. Their shrimps are fresh and slightly sweet when you get them off the grill. There were also 2-3 selections of hot food items in a small buffet corner. I remember there were spicy chicken wings, coated boiled egg cut into half on a salad with special sauce. In fairness, I enjoyed these. It wasn’t warm enough though it is placed in a chafing dish, but it’s alright (for me). The skewers (chicken, beef, et al) are a little too spicy (Thai spicy) and so are the dipping sauces available to go with the proteins. I am good with spicy but not everyone would enjoy it.One thing I want to highlight was the iced-tea. Nothing special with it but it cost fortune for a pitcher of iced-tea. I felt we were robbed! It went a little bit overboard which we are not so happy about.Generally, it was not the greatest experience. Severs were nice and prompt, food was OK but there are still a number of opportunities for the outlet to look at: the vibe and feel vs the concept do not go along well (it is literally a bar a not a restaurant). The seats are too low and the tables are too high for the chairs. The machines they use for hot pot is also not easy to use, the serving spoon they have does not fit the hot pot machine. The exhaust fan is not enough to eliminate the smoke fast which may potentially make guests feel inconvenient as we were almost suffocated by the smoke -we were not able to try their desserts as we were already done with the steam inside the restaurant. There’s still a lot of improvements to do.
