I was in the Gold Souq area to pick up some spices and my husband suggested we stop at Pravin Bhai’s for Pani Puri. The restaurant has been around since the early 80’s and is widely known for its Nashta (Breakfast), Gujrati Thaali’s and Chaats, etc. Finding it might be a challenge since its located in one of inner alleys. Google Maps is your friend. We ordered Pani Puri and a Vada Pav. The Paani Puri had a generous serving of Puris, 8 to a plate. The stuffing was on the spicier side but surely good. The Vada Pav was pretty decent, although I did feel that the Pav wasn’t too fresh. The restaurant gives you a feel of old school Dubai, when small family run restaurants were a norm all over. The walls are adourned with pictures of Indian heritage sites and the local cuisine the area is popular for. I surely plan to visit again when I get chance to try out their dinner/lunch offerings. alldatglittersaintgold.wordpress.com
