Last night I visited Bayside Restaurant for a Mexican themed dinner – it was a buffet at 175dhs / person but thanks to Zomato Gold it was Buy one, get one. All I have to say is that serving food like that should be a crime – all the main dishes were bland, tasteless, and soggy. Enchiladas should not be soggy or have chicken bones in them. My friend and I eat Mexican in Dubai often so at first we thought it was us being picky but even the guacamole had a sour taste- I mean even old El Paso would have been tasted better from a jar. There seems to be “live” stations but what’s the point when the ingredients aren’t fresh and someone doesn’t know how to make the dishes? So regardless we paid for meal but we went to speak to the hotel manager who gave us the card for a restaurant manager, Sarfaraz who has not returned my call? The restaurant Manager told us the chef was new but anyone tasting that food knows that food isn’t made fresh for dinner.

Food was the lowest quality I’ve experience in Dubai so far with some dishes (fish & chicken) clearly having been made for lunch and kept till dinner. The guacamole had been recently defrosted (see image). Found a chicken bone in my enchiladas and the fruit wasn’t fresh. The restaurant comes complimentary to guests of the hotel so my guess would be this is why the standards are so low. In general the staff was professional and very nice. All in all very dissapointed and shocked they charge 175 aed for this.

It was Diwali night and we checked almost 3 times for vegetarian options before booking.There were salad options, but in main course there was a Malaysian curry with jasmine rice, saute vegetables,Hot breads were in tandoor section but no gravy to go with it, when we asked for an accompaniment we were offered Dal Makhni which was not good at all (and we were charged AED 50 for it).Only thing we were happy with was the service and B1G1 ZG that we used.Verdict: Not at all recommended for vegetarians.
Bayside is a sorry excuse for a restaurant. While the restaurant has a nice decor, the food is borderline criminal. We arrived a bit after 8 pm mid-week, but the international buffet barely had any food left. Dishes weren’t replenished on a regular basis, so you had literally empty trays at an all-you-can-eat buffet that is priced at AED 175 (AED 295 with alcohol). We had to chase up one of the cooks to ask them to cook us some fresh dishes.Service is slow and inattentive.Sorry, but this was a truly horrible Dubai buffet experience. They are literally hundreds of great buffets, but this isn’t one of them.
We went here for a buffet lunch. Good spread of salad and dessert. Blueberry crumble deserves a special mention. Hummus was also good.Main course selection was disappointing. Heavily tilted towards Indian, but not quality or authentic. They include still and sparkling water in the price.Server was cheeky- we didn’t leave a tip. Kept trying to get us to buy extras without informing us that it was not included. Even mentioned the wrong price for kids but thankfully we had checked. They are in the entertainer but charge fill price if you use entertainer vouchers for the kids, but this was not informed either.They need to have less aggressive sales targets for staff so that diners can have a genuine experience.
