Excellent night out.
Asked to leave the restaurant for wearing my Emirati traditional abaya and denied entry. Discrimination against the people living in this country for wearing their traditional clothes is not an excuse to not be served a table, especially in the United Arab Emirates.
The only restaurant in Dubai that I wasn’t allowed to enter in a Abaya, I didn’t even ask to be seated next to a bar or anything. Quite disappointed, never thought I wouldn’t be able to dine in a restaurant in my country. The hostess was late and rude. Never coming back.
I will also post a feedback here. To begin with , the entrance to La Mezcaleria is beautiful and royal. Absolutely love the minimalist decor to the lovely outdoor place. We were seated at our table in 5-10 mins of our arrival, it was an extremely busy Friday evening. The menu is limited and more so for vegetarians. We ordered almost everything in chicken and veg on the menu. Amongst them, our favorites were the veg salad and veg quesadilla. The chicken tacos were good too. However the vegan tacos were a disappointment, lacked flavor and had no taste. Our server was kind to recognize and cancelled the dish from or final bill. The chicken carnitas, the chicken lasagna, guacamole lacked taste too. On the brighter side, their tortillas chips were fresh and crisp served with 3 different spice level dips. The churros in the end were fresh and hot, a sweet ending. The place has an amazing vibe and a rocking dj. Loved the evening, but lot of scope of improvement in the food aspect!The place promises a fine dining experience, it does fulfill in terms of price and service.
Pay 85 aed for your cocktail and get just loads of ice instead!!! The cocktail is actually less than 1/4th the glass and they cheat you by filling it up with ice!! When questioned- they say, it’s by measurement!! The measurement is deceit!
