Dark, small, feels like a speakeasy but the music choice ruins it. Drinks are strong and pricey, would definitely be worth visiting again if they commit to the theme they are going for.

Arrived before 2am on a Thursday, we were told by one of the service team that they don’t serve cocktails after 1am. I settled for a glenfiddich instead. Later on bumped into another member of the service team, and told us we can order a cocktail drink! Fell in love with the Shangrila cocktail I ordered – Japanese whiskey with chocolate bitter. Strong and on point. The music by the DJ was legit, too!
Hidden speakeasies are rare in Dubai where we are spoilt for choice. Poppy sticks to the concept pretty well except for a few blemishes. The decor is very classy and suits the mood perfectly. The entrance is inconspicuous as it should be with just a wooden door with a metal plate reading ‘Private’ leading to an inviting ambience. Staff is polite and courteous. Service is top notch. The drinks menu is decent though pricey. Music is a concern as sometimes it’s just suited to the concept and at times deviates from it. Food is non existent and that’s where they might want to add some decent bites to their offering.Yet a place I would surely recommend for a chilled out evening for sure!!
