Words cannot possibly describe my love for the desserts at Hafiz Mustafa. I first tried this in Istanbul and was waiting ever since for them to open up in Dubai. Luckily the wait is now over and the couple of desserts I tried during my first of many visits to this place were the Rasberry Trilece and Baklava slice with ice cream. Both retained the exact same flavor, texture and taste from what I had tried in Istanbul. It was absolutely heavenly to dig into both the milk cake and the pistachio filled baklava and I can’t wait to go back and try more of these.P.S. I’m not even a fan of pistachio or baklava and there’s no other place I would possibly have it other than Hafiz Mustafa. They are really that good.
The new Hafiz Mustafa shop in Dubai Mall has the age old turkish ecstas-tic sweets. The place is quite big. The first portion is for the retail selling with a huge variety of classic Turkish legendary items in showcases and packages. The next portion is a seat in restaurant.The menu is primarily of Baklava, Kunafa, Pudding, Cakes etc. The tariff is completely at par with Dubai mall peers.Unlike the common Arabic Restaurants here, who gleefully ignore single customers like me, these giys were extremely polite and glad to have me. The menu ckmes in an ipad, unfortunately, which is not my forte.Anyhow, my order was a Full breakfast plate at 65 dhs. I was very hungry and the platter consisted of chicken and turkey ham slices, boiled egg, small tomatoes, olives, fresh labneh- magnificent in taste, cucumber slices, bread basket, strawberry jam, Honey, cheese pastry and a cup of robust turkey tea, which came with a small piece of the famed Turkish delight. Each and every item was so fresh, soft, flavourful, colourful and a gourmet’s delight.Initially I took a small baclava to taste and I was blown away by the quality and ordered two pieces more. Best ever.The decorations by the items seen on the wall and the showcases were something extraordinary and usually not seen in Dubai. A most delightful addition to the foodscape of Dubai.The cutleries were dainty with luxurious intricate royal designs of Middle asia. Colours are great motifs. The interior of the restaurant is totally as it’s like in Istambul.Ms. Marie looked after me and she was a most considerate server who was very understanding and adjusting regarding my requirements. Very well done and I will visit again..
