One of the best Indian fine dining restaurant. Lotus stem chat is the signature dish. And for vegetarian people it’s a heavenly dish. All the foods were mouth watering. Perfect for celebrating your special occasion. We were so delighted to see so many vegetarian options and each dish were mouth watering. All the flavours were perfectly balanced by head chef.In dessert bhapa doi was another creativity by kitchen ten. Service was great. Portion sizes are worth for money. Thank you team patiala.
Some delicious lip smacking food awaits you at Patiala. Not sure if there is a change of hands in ownership, but this used to be a restaurant owned by the famous chef, Kunal Kapur. We made a reservation to a fairly vacant restaurant during Saturday afternoon and found ourselved to be sharing the dining space with one other guest. The ambiance is dimly lit, soothing and calm. The servers move about swiftly, however little attention was given to our reservation. At the time of booking, we mentioned that food be fresh and suitable for a pregnant woman to eat. Given that the restaurant was fairly vacant, our host didn’t bother checking our reservation and rushed us to our table. We reached around 4:00 p.m, double checked if they were open, and serving food. It turned out they were, but they missed out on mentioning to us that the tandoor station will be closed and they wont serve Indian breads except Roomali Roti, a slight disappointment there. We proceeded and placed an order for palak and apricot tikki, kamal ke jad ki chaat, shahi paneer and veg jalfrezi to pair with the roomali rotis. The starters arrived shortly after placing the order. The delicately soft and tender tikkis melted in the mouth. It had a moist texture, soft yet held together firmly. It didn’t fall apart with a bite. A mildli spicy tender tikki with a delicious after touch of apricot, this starter was devoured with satisfaction. Then came the kamal ke jad ki chaat, which was presented beautifully too. It had a dazzle of sauces layered on it, and the lotus root spread evenly on a bed of julienne cut vegetables. An indo chinese flavor lingered on taste palette with the first bite, and this dish, although called chaat had a sweet and sour taste profile because of the presence of chinese sauces. It was part crunchy, part soft and overall had an interesting texture. Our main course arrived soon after and the shahi paneer and veg jalfrezi was placed above a dimlyLit candle to keep the gravies piping hot. The portions were generous and sufficient for 4. The shahi paneer had a rich gravy lathered with cream and smeared with a generous dollop of butter. It had a delicious taste, one that is both filling and satiating and evenly balanced spices with a sweet finishing note. The veg jalfrezi was another delicious combination of flavors and masalas and a great complement to the otherwise mildly spicy shahi paneer. The roomai rotis were paper thin, edible, and luckily not too chewy. Since they were served piping fresh and hot, they satiated our taste buds well too.By now we were too full to order for any dessert and had to wind up the meal with leftovers that were neatly packed for takeaway. In terms of taste, portion sizes and quality, I can vouch that Patiala more than lived up to its name, and truly had the authentic flavors one looks for when devouring a punjabi meal. Will be back soon to try our other dishes.
Located on Souk Al Bahar, this place serves good indian food & drinks in a sophisticated atmosphere.Drinks -We stared off with paan candy flavoured mojito, peanut chocolate pina colada, passion fruit mango and cranberry mojito &mixed berry mojito. Along with being refreshing & delicious, the drinks were presented wonderfully too. Our favourite was the pan candy flavoured mojito and the peanut chocolate pina colada.Starters -For starters, we had the Lucknowi tikki chaat. Medley of spices and yogurt, this show stopper was bursting with flavours.Chilli nadru chaat – made of fried lotus stem tossed in bell peppers & delicious tomato based sauce, resulting in crispy and tangy lotus stem starter. Absolutely recommended.Mix grill platter – with Kerala style prawn, seekh kebab, hara bhara galouti kebab and hariyali malai Boti. Cooked to perfection, the kebabs were juicy and absolutely delectable.Mains – we had the methi chicken keema, chicken biryani, dal makhni, achaari baingan masala and nilgiri mutton korma. The mains were well presented and in good portions. Methi chicken qorma was mildly spiced creamy fenugreek leaves based curry. Tasted delicious. The nilgiri mutton korma was the star of the mains. Perfectly cooked melt in the mouth meat in a delicately spiced coriander and green chillies based curry. Highly recommended. The chicken biryani and the achaari baigan (eggplant) tasted amazing.Desserts-Beetroot halwa, frozen mango lassi with naan khatai & bappa doi.The desserts were delectable. Do try the frozen lassi with naan khatai. The service was on point and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
It’s an Indian cuisine day and so we opted for a luxury experience tonight as it was our son’s birthday too. We we went to souq al bahar and chose Patiala Restaurant. It’s a beautifully designed restaurant with gleaming decor. Their staff is very hospitable and each one of them greeted with a warm smile. Since we are always with two demanding toddlers so Dinning out somewhere becomes an adventure for us. Sushil is the guy who had been taking a great care of all our needs and our kids too. Moving towards their menu they have an elaborated menu ranging from appetizers to starters and extensive range of almost all kind of drinks to the main course and at the end a yummy dessert treat too. We had some of the chef’s specialties and I must say their chef Mr. Bharat Singh did justice to what he claimed in the beginning. We started with soups; they had daal dhaniya shorba, murgh malai shorba and mushroom cream soup. My personal favorite was murgh malai shorba n mushroom soup. The serving of soups was in a very unique way. It was much like soup shots which we loved. Then we’re the starters in that we had kamal jad ki shammi (a very unique type of kebab), South Indian style prawn (very tasty), afghani murgh tikka (very tender and scrumptious), Amristsari Seekh kebab (different but not bad) and malai kebab (extremely tender and juicy). That was quite a fiesta. We had some amazingly refreshing drinks too which included candy paan mojito (gives the taste of paan in it and very deliciously refreshing), Rain forest (I found the taste more like of mixed berries inside so it was rich in taste and really good), peanut chocolate colada (it was a virgin colada but I found it a bit heavy) and virgin mojito (fresh lime and helped in digestion). Moving towards main course we ordered lamb biryani ( the best biryani I had till date from any Indian restaurant and I just loved their presentation for that), Nalli Nihari (we were expecting much from this but it was okay), chicken tikka masala (good in taste), dal makhni (husband’s favorite) and Patiala Shahi meat (drenched in gravy it too was rich in cultural taste) served with softest assorted breads. At the end we had delish gulab jamun and Pistachio kulfi. They had my heart. It was all in all a great experience with them and I must say it’s highly recommended from our side. Do give it go and let us know how did you find them. You’d love the ambiance, staff, food and value of your money won’t be wasted. Cheers!
Nice ambiance, good service and delicious food. Daal makhni is must to try
