Thursday evening is one of the most exciting evenings of the week. This day I decided to spend in atmosphere of jazz, whiskey & cigars of old-fashioned Library Bar in a luxurious @ritzcarltondubaiFood & Drinks. Food was served very fast & it was very important, as I was quite hungry, presentation was precisely appealing & appetizing. Obviously chicken wings were unquestionably fresh, tasty, juicy & tender but little bit more spicy than expected. Food menu itself was limited, not too much varied, I would call it humble, but fairly good for ‘bar food’. As for the drink menu, here I can start my dithyrambs. Veritably good offer of single malt & blended whiskey & scotch, bourbon, gin, rum, vodka, tequila, brandy, cognac, wine, beer, cocktails & other drinks. The attractive part of visit there, can be assistance in choosing a drink for u, which would be the most matching with ur mood, taste & preferences. Service & Ambience. Staff is very attentive, helpful & friendly. As for the place itself, it has the style of real classical old-style cigar bar/lounge. Dim lights, cozy armchairs & sofas – perfect place to meet with your business partners, discuss important things, to make a date, to meet with your friends or just chill alone.Music & Entertainment. All that amazing atmosphere is added, supplemented & totally completed with @ciaranfoxsinger with his Sinatra’s voice, magnificent jazz & swing repertoire. Obviously it’s amazing experience. On top of this, u can request your favorite song, exchange some jokes with Ciaran & dance of course. Unfortunately, live music is applicable for Thursday evening only. As for the rest of the time, there’s nice background music which is very comparable & matching with the style of the bar. Mostly it’s swing, jazz & retro compositions.Location & Parking. Obviously not the best one, as it’s in JBR, but not so deep, so, easier to reach it. Anyway, be ready to spend some time standing in a traffic. Valet parking is available, which is working properly & promptly.Rating. Despite on some missing elements, I would like to rate it as 5 out of 5 & I’m pretty sure that it worth to visit.

When I Googled Dubai’s best cigar bars, I found an article in an online magazine called EDGARdaily that mentioned Library Bar, Ritz-Carlton Dubai as number 3 on that list. It was the closest from home so we decided to give it a try. The main purpose of this visit was a pleasant place to smoke a cigar, this doesn’t mean that I won’t try the food too.THE LOCATION: The lobby level of The Ritz-Carlton JBR it is easily accessible as it is the non-crowded area of JBR. PARKING: Free Valet Service which is pleasant and convenient. THE AMBIENCE: Elegant and cozy, perfect for smoking a good cigar. The seating varied from regular tables with comfortable armchairs to low tables with sofas. THE SERVICE: Way understaffed, we had only one server all night. When I first arrived at 6PM the place was busy. So of course, there is no way that one person can cover all those customers alone. Our server did his best, so it is unfair to judge the service from this first visit. THE FOOD: The Bar Bites menu is very limited so we asked our server if they had another menu and they did. He brought us the menu from The Lobby Lounge.Heritage Angus Beef Burger (8/10) 110AED English Cheddar, veal bacon, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, pickles. The beef patty is perfect it is juicy, thick enough but not too big, seasoned to perfection. The bun is fresh and tasty, it wasn’t covered with sesame this why I even loved it more. I didn’t like the idea of the fried egg, it looked perfect but I knew that if I take the first bite I will be covered with egg yolk all over, so I had to eat my burger with a fork and a knife 🙁 I will probably order this burger again but I will definitely say no to the egg. The cheese had melted perfectly, but there was mayo only on that burger. I had to add ketchup and mayo. The fries were by the book crunch from the outside and soft from the inside (10/10)Cesar Salad: Romaine hearts, veal bacon, parmesan cheers, garlic crouton with grilled prawns 100AED. It looked good but I didn’t try it so I can’t review it. It say it is expensive. THE PORTION SIZE: The Heritage Angus Beef Burger just right for 100AED burger, while it is for sure stingy for the Cesar Salad.THE COST: Expensive and the cigars are overpriced. A Wide Churchill is for 165AED while at the Four Seasons is for 120AED, so as an advice bring in your own cigars from home or you can go buy them from across the street at La Casa Del Habano. THE BOTTOM LINE: (8/10)For a first visit, I was impressed. I will definitely go back, as a cigar bar it covers all the necessities. Also it is pretty convenient from a location perspective. I ran into two different friends, I didn’t know that this bar is so popular.

Glenmarangie single malt was good with a decent cigar. However when the hotel ran out of the single malt we had to upgrade to another brand at a higher price. Not fair since they ran out which should not happen being a 5 Star plus hotel. The Library lacked atmosphere and frankly besides being over priced was boring. The Service was much to be desired with us having to wave down a waiter to serve us Vs them being attentive. The establishment has a bit of work to do.

A very nice, quiet bar. A little on the pricey side, but the drinks are very good. This isn’t a place you come for a party or to meet people – this is for a very nice drink with your friends; quiet, dignified drinks with a business colleagues; or a few drinks with yourself and a good book.
