I enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the Moana, a seafood restaurant, with indoor seating and a nice spacious wooden outdoor terrace overlooking the pool area at Sofitel on the Palm.The staff were friendly and accommodating and found us a shady table out on the terrace. A booster seat was provided for my daughter and several high chairs were also available.There were a number of items on the menu ranging from sushi, to grilled fish and curry. We opted for the Seabream and the Red Snapper. Both mains were served with one complimentary side so we opted for fries and mashed potato. I was surprised to see three large pieces of fish on each plate, much larger portions than I had expected. The food was cooked well but a lacked a little seasoning. For dessert I ordered the sticky date pudding which was also a much larger serving than i was expecting and sufficient for two to share.The staff were attentive throughout the meal, especially Ana who was pleasant and helpful at explaining the menu options in detail.

I have planned the whole trip and had my budget set but was so disappointed to know that the item that is AED 450 + in the website is actually AED 827 on their updated menu. And yes, I am talking about the seafood platter.Sometimes, its not just about the money. This situation makes me feel uncomfortable to patronize establishments that are not responsible enough to check these details.
Embraced by the pristine waters throughout, this stunning resort provides its guest with a fine poolside dining experience comprising scrumptious seafood menu from Asian-inspired cuisine. Another remarkable delight in this pagoda-inspired restaurant is its signature Raw Bar which is known for alluring its guests with its authentic sushi.
When you go out of your way to make a special request and booking and go to the location and pick a specific table and the staff make your request on the system and they assure and confirm your reservation and requests. And at the end they just ignore all the efforts and requests you made! This is what Moana did to me and my family! We were staying at Beach suite for three nights at the hotel and this was supposed to be a nice special family bonding dinner and they ruined it for us all not to mention that it made my wife and I in a bad mood! No matter what they try to do or make it up or how good the food was it’s just not acceptable in any way or form. Night ruined and no complimentary anything will make up for it.
Delicious and fresh, an experience to feel in a polynesian resort ambiance, with a smiling and professional team to ensure a smooth diner. No mistake for a romantic dinner. thank you all
