Visited yesterday for an afternoon tea in Olivier’s lounge which I found on Groupon. Purchased and thought I’d give this place a try seeing as it was reasonably priced.I first ordered my tea. English breakfast which was pleasant. After half an hour came the stand, after I requested it. The sandwiches were miserly filled with hardly any filling and were not like those advertised on their website. Just standard dry, stale sandwiches. I complained and received just another serving of stale bread!!! They definitely need to make the sandwiches on the day and not use old stale bread. Also change their bread supplier as these were not premium sandwiches one would expect at an afternoon tea.The cheese and onion quiches were ok. The scones were alright, but again were not freshly baked on the day. They were not served warm either.The sweets were overly sweet. They looked good though just overpowering sweet. I have a toothache today!!!But for me the deal breaker is that not long after I had the afternoon tea my stomach started cramping. By the time I got home the pain was more severe. All throughout the night and the next morning my stomach is still cramping. I had so much discomfort/pain/bloating. I clearly was served dodgy/unfresh food and I am now starting to see why Olivier’s is on Groupon. Cheap, stale food is served to match the price. It’s probably not popular because of the lack of quality and freshness. They have to put a place like this on Groupon as no one frequents it.This is the poorest afternoon tea experience I’ve had in Dubai, and definitely the worst I’ve ever had anywhere. I will be in contact with the hotel about this unfortunate experience
Went to the Lobby Lounge for lunch after a visit. What they serve is overpriced, Dunno why; What they serve is fresh, nothing more special about em. There is not much of a food variety to select from, Had their Open Faced smoked Salmon, It was delicious by the way. Good staff; attentive.
Good selection of fresh sandwiches and delicious cakes. Excellent service and lovely ambiance ,Their selection and portions are good. Everything was fresh, tasty and satisfying.
I love to have my Turkish coffee there ! Despite the crowd still quite and comfortable seating.. Excellent service and lovely ambiance.. they provides lovely selections of desserts as well !
My brother and his family were visiting from Australia and wanted to try the Hi-tea in Dubai. The lobby lounge was rated as being among the top 10 in the city so we decided to give it a try especially when we found a Groupon for it too. It was a sudden decision, so no time to book prior to the visit but Mr. Gayan did his best to accommodate our party of 8. Must say that we were not disappointed in any aspect except that we would have wanted more of those scones!
One if the hotel lobbies on the Palm with less tourists.The hotel has also a art gallery. A charming spot to relax and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea or for a meeting. Good selection of fresh sandwiches and delicious cakes.
We tried out the afternoon tea here a couple of days ago. Their selection and portions are good. Everything was fresh, tasty and satisfying. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We requested to replace the items containing meat, and she was very accommodating. A lovely place to catch up with a friend or have a business meeting.
