Sun& is a great bar in the best and worst location. Sun& beautiful views inside of the Palm fronds peeks into fantastic properties, tranquil azure beaches, overlooks a marina both with inside air-conditioned seating (read: summer) and patio drinking and dining (read: ‘winter’). It is a bar you need to know is there otherwise it is not obvious – this brings me to the worst location. Nothing from the Golden Mile side tells you there is a beautiful bar on the inside. For as long as I can remember, there is a lot of construction in the area (the Palm is a giant tree-shaped construction site). I have mixed feelings about this as the awkward location tells me that few people know about it and that’s why I always get a seat even with large groups without a reservation. But I am rewarded with a fantastic view whenever I am there. The issue with Sun& is the food is reminiscent of pub food and you obviously pay a premium because (1) this is the Palm after all (2) they serve alcohol so there is always that novelty and (3) the view is beautiful.I highly recommend the boullabaise which achieves the signature rich creamy seafood flavour that is often overlooked, the GRILLED MAHI MAHI steak which is meaty, light and cleverly combines pickled vegetables to brighten the dish, their HOUSE BURGER WITH PESTO AND ROCKET puts most burger house burgers to shame (medium rare is recommended) and the SPICY CHICKEN FLATBREAD is remarkably spicy, surprisingly spicy so make sure to grab a drink with that one. Speaking of drinks, there’s plenty to choose from with a well-stocked bar including beer and ciders on draught. There is also a brunch which I have never been to but I hear good things as it is a selection of a la carte starter items (a smart decision as buffets are over-rated).It is perfect for large groups and entertaining. It strikes me very much more as a daytime place (otherwise you lose the view). There is plenty of free parking in front of the large building complex. eatgosee.com

“Happy hour from 12-9pm” get there at 8pm and apparently happy hour doesn’t work on their system. They have 2 members of staff working so you can imagine how busy it gets on a Friday

Came here on a friday with my best friend for the brunch and the happy hours after. Literally one of the best services i’ve ever had in Dubai, the place had a good crowd, chill music that’s not too loud, nice food, great views and amazing service. It’s another hidden gem in Dubai and i will definitley be back again

The brunch was a big disappointment, everything advertised is false, even when we called for details, the team replied with false information. Even The food was so cheap as if we were in a street buffet.

Well, the only thing good about this place is that it’s in Palm, alongside a beach, with a decent view. Paid 200 dhs for a brunch with food worth not more than 20 dhs. I strongly recommend NOT TO EAT ANYTHING.

Amazing food. Big portions! Menu has enough to choose from for any outing. Chrislene was our hostess and she was super friendly and accommodating! I hope to be back very soon. Good job Sun&

I went there for brunch with a couple of friends and forgot an item at the table. Been trying to contact the restaurant and they were very unhelpful. The lady manager did not even try to investigate, she has been dodging my calls, giving me false information about where I was seated, about their policies regarding their CCTV cameras. Also, lots of attitude coming from her. My point is, even though it was a decent afternoon then and there at the restaurant and we were willing to go back next time, the experience does not end there. You need to still treat your customers and help them out even after the seating at the restaurant. Their food could have been excellent food (not that it was, it was very average), but this one lady by treating her customers in awful manners just lost me and my 30 guests as customers to the restaurant. Keep that in mind!
