Being located at the extreme end of the West frond, The One and Only have always been missed , with the more happening Zabeel Saray and Kempinski nearby, this private little resort may have skipped by many. Being a weekend sunset time, most of the resorts in palm seemed packed to have a peaceful drink and enjoy the sunset. My favorite Anantara’s Lotus lounge being more packed these days and with introduction of buy one get one offers, the place had lost its exclusivity and the nearby Sofitel always seemed too overpowering to have a quite relaxing drink.. I drove around the palm and ended up at the One and Only by chance, being a ardent fan of the Royal Mirage I did have hopes about this place.As expected , this was a great little private resort with a very personalized feeling entrance and a really cozy lobby lounge. Unlike other lobby lounges which makes you feel that you are sitting right in between the walkway of the hotel, this place has a real boutique feel and can be compared to many of the quiet and classy bars around the area. The drink menu’s are vast and as expected a bit pricey. We went for the Old fashioned and then next round for Long Islands, both were great. The service is brilliant and very personalized. The lounge serves free canapés (something not done in many places) the sushi was really great.The outdoor seating is brilliant, but its better to wait down till the cooler months, the indoors are perfect and great for some quiet moments with your partner or even with friends. Even with guests filling up over the time, the place dint lose its quiet and peaceful ambience. The live music being played is great and adds to the ambience. Highly recommended if you can’t stand crowd and noise and would love to have a peaceful drink on the Palm.
