I love pool bars. There’s something deliciously decadent about wading up to a bar counter (pool side of course), ordering a chilled one and then sitting there on the submerged stool drinking it. In my dictionary of life, I have this one listed under…pure bliss. Perhaps because pool bars are so much fun, they attract fun people, or at the minimum, fun-loving people. So invariably you’re in good company. And then sometimes you also get a couple of those skimpy clad, bouncy bimbos who obviously live by the less is more mantra. There’s so much drama and excitement and squealing when they’re around…and that’s just from the men…hold that thought.The Westin Mina Seyahi has a couple of pool bars; two for sure, maybe three even. I’ve only visited one of them and can assure you it’s got everything one could want from a pool bar, starting with the most important element – decent bar tenders. The boys manning the pool bars, both bar tenders and runner/servers, are friendly and Speedy Gonzalez fast. I’ve not eaten there but hey, it’s the Westin, the grubs bound to be good…and pricy. I benchmark pool bars against the excellent facilities at the Le Royal Meridien, down the road in JBR. And although I prefer the Royal, it’s more out of familiarity than superiority. Waste NOT. Want NOT.
My family has a membership in Club Mina and we go there frequently. It’s a BAU beach bites and drinks but served with quality. The menu is definitely pricy as its a 5 stars hotel. But we still had a discount as members
