Scafa is not only a restaurant but a certified chef academy, so you can count that if there is something on the menu is going to be good.Prices very low; quality very good; menu selection is small but very original.I would recommend my personal favorite the rib eye with straw fries.I can recommend this restaurant to any body around JLT.

I usually like small, independent eateries. But not this one. Perhaps It was the fact that a culinary school is attached to the restaurant or that big signs on the windows boast of it’s 2 Black Hat ratings, my expectations were high. However, the lunch I had was sub-par. Soggy beef salad with an odd dish called Bunny Chow as the main did not do it for me. I would like to have enjoyed but did not.

On the 11th of October 2014 we were treated to a fun cooking competition and dinner at SCAFA (School of Culinary and Finishing Arts). The menu was Vietnamese spring rolls wrapped in rice paper, roasted red snapper with ratatouille and poached pears in orange and spice broth. The chefโ€™s were very nice and helpful plus I learnt a couple of tricks! For the spring rolls we didnโ€™t fry them, we cut the vegetables and put the glass noodles in some warm water and then cold water. Another interesting trick is that the rice paper was soaked in warm water for a couple of seconds then filled with vegetables and chicken and served with a really nice hot and sour sauce (the sauce was sodium free :D). The spring rolls tasted great, nice and fresh plus the sauce was really good; I also liked the flavour of the balsamic vinegar that was put on top of the arugula leaves. Also did you look at the presentation #beautiful. The fish was marinated in basic spices, pan fried and then baked, tasted good but for me the ratatouille was the highlight of the dish, it was super flavourful and meshed nicely with the fish. The dish was presented quite nicely with a ring of balsamic vinegar thatโ€™s been aged in an oak container. For dessert we had simple poached pears with an aromatic broth. For me the dessert was nice but a little too sweet. Overall it was a wonderful event and heaps of fun. Big shout out to Middle East Arthritis Foundation and to SCAFA for hosting a fantastic event! This was a free event open to the public, but as always my opinions remain unbiased. whatthefigs.com

SCafe is a small Bistro spin-off where upcoming Chefโ€™s can practice their cooking skills on us, the unassuming public. My first impressions were of a light and airy, beautifully clean little Bistro right in the heart of Jumeirah Lake Towers. The menu is not huge but it is big enough to find something for everyone. Of course the man had to order his beloved beef sandwich so for the sake of this review I ordered the sour dough bread topped with creme fraiche, salmon rillette, smoked salmon, capers, dill and lemon segment. There is no childrenโ€™s menu at SCafe so Mitten had a pasta dish with white sauce and 3 king prawns ( I canโ€™t find it on the menu). Needless to say she wouldnโ€™t eat the prawns we shared them, amazing and the pasta sauce was divine!I think I made a mistake ordering the salmon sandwich though, whilst it looked beautiful and the salmon was absolutely delicious I found the bread to be really dry and dense. I did try the roast beef sandwich though which was brilliant. Just goes to show that having a bit of patience and a sous-vide machine pays off. I promised Mitten she could have the Eton mess which was absolutely gorgeous, she would only let me have the one spoonful though!! therealgeordiearmani.com

I have eaten at Scafa a number of times now. It would be fair to say that the Roast Beef Sandwich is the BEST in Dubai. I have eaten a number of meals here over the last 2 months and the food is nothing short of spectacular! I would highly recommend this venue for business lunches. The food is great and the ambience is perfect for wowing your clients/partners.

I have eaten at Scafa twice and i have been amazed at the culinary prowess of this little restaurant. I had the steak and it melted in my mouth as i ate it, fantastic! On a second occasion we participated in a 5 course meal that rivaled some of the best meals I’ve had the pleasure of eating. I would highly recommend Scafa for an amazing treat which is both tasty and surprisingly cost effective.
