Been going crazy over all kinds of shrimps, I now have a habit of ordering a starter or main course in shrimps. The (fried) shrimps over here were not as great as they seemed in the menu, they were just okay in terms of flavor and taste. Also price was expensive. But my hunt for the best shrimps in dubai are still on.–A drop of ink may make a million think. @AyaashPaw pawanmanghnani.com
Not all restaurants with fresh seafood need to be expensive. Choose your fish, squid, prawns, lobsters, crabs, mussels, and the chef will cook it the way you want it – grilled, fried, steamed, spicy or otherwise. Accompanied with the mezze of your choice, brea@ds, fried or biriyani rice, the seafood is absolutely gratifying. The seafood soup is a must have. The best part is that the space is large and the restaurant has a separate section for shisha. If you love seafood, you can’t miss Al Markeb. Cost per couple – approx AED 200.Sonali Mukhopadhyay
Food is tasty but very pricey. Arabic atmosphere. Interior could use some improvements. They have limited styles of seafood preparations. Best i had was the grilled jumbo prawns’
We were running out of time for iftar and we happened to pass by Al Markeb restaurant. This pretty much sums up our expedition to this restaurant but what followed wasn’t a pleasing experience. They had open buffet for iftar. The options were very limited and all the descriptions were in Arabic so it was hard to understand the dishes. The starters were mediocre and so was the main dishes. However, the upside is they served strictly sea food and if you like fresh sea food for iftar then it can be a fair choice. The grilled prawns were very flavorful and delectable, however they seemed to be short of the supply. I could only get one piece and the empty tray was never replenished! Grilled Hammour was also good with very precise spices and with the moisture intact.Lastly the I couldn’t find anything good to have from dessert counter! The chef couldn’t do justice to the sweet Arabic delicacies. Also, they didn’t even bother to inform the visitors that the buffet was closing down by 8p.m!!The cost was AED99 per person for iftar. I wouldn’t recommend to go to this restaurant for iftar at all. Surfing through Cobone or Groupon will help you to land on better deals with better food for this much money.
Zamora Cashless doesn’t work here ! Been here twice !! Both times they say the machine doesn’t work. Food is good . Service is great. Very Arab oriented.
Food is ok. Grilled shrimps were great. Seafood soup also was good. Lighting of the hotel is poor, thus makes the ambience gloomy. Reasonably priced
