Finally my wife had taken a day off and we could have an enjoyable lunch together and discover a new restaurant. Sticking to my own motto, we set out to at least try some dishes we had never had before and definitely succeeded to accomplish that goal!Food:1) NEW for me: raw tuna with fermented soy beans, never had the latter and was pleasantly surprised with the flavour and texture, wish I would have had a spoon to eat it all2) Pork gyoza – a classic but very tasty3) NEW for me: Crab croquettes – being used to eating cheese, meat, fish or shrimp croquettes in Belgium, I absolutely wanted to try it and was super happy I did, favourite dish of the lunch for me4) Thinly sliced Wagyu beef – another classic, did not disappoint at all, very tender and great accompanying sauce.+ Free parking for 3 hours at the hotel parking and conveniently located next to the WAFI mall+ Very friendly and helpful staff, explaining and recommending dishes to try out+ Fantastic views on the skyline from the terrace – definitely recommended for after sunset dinners to enjoy the city lights+ Great place to go with a little group and share multiple smaller dishes as you can order half portions from a lot of items on the menu- Menu is too overloaded, it was almost impossible to make a choice, also wonder if the quality of the food would be consistent across all the dishes with this many items to choose from, we couldn’t fault any of our dishes, but hard to imagine that this would be the case every time- Personally I found the setting a bit ‘messy’ – restaurant/bar in 4 corners of the pyramid + terraces spread across. In general I didn’t get the same ‘luxury’ feeling in the restaurant as when you enter the hotel’s lobby/reception area – which is a pity as you enter the elevator with high expectations, but we were slightly disappointed with the set up of the restaurant- Oh yeah, being 194cm tall, I needed to get on my knees to wash my hands 🙂
