I had a gift certificate that entitled me to a Traditional Afternoon Tea for 2 people at Palm Court Lobby Lounge in Jumeirah Beach Hotel. So I made a booking for 2 on a Saturday. As the name suggested, I expected this to be in a lobby of the hotel. So coming to the ambiance, do not expect too much. You will see a lot of people walking past and quite a bit of buzz. Plus my friend & I got seated in an area that was blocked off for a private party of some people. So we were within there, with all these people walking around us, and I’m sure we 2 are in the background of the 100s of photos taken by them. So it wasn’t really pleasant, and not sure why we were seated there. The Traditional Afternoon Tea, which normally costs AED 200 per person, comes with a glass of Prosecco or Mocktail, 3 courses of bites and a choice of either tea or coffee. Since mine was a gift certificate, I was told I could only have the Mocktail (no Prosecco). The courses comes with 4 sandwiches (beef, prawn, egg & veg), 3 scones served alongside butter & jam and an assortment of pastries.I chose some Rasberry Mocktail – it was nice & sour. The sandwiches were really good – my favourite were the egg & prawn sandwiches. I LOVED the scones too. Wasn’t a fan of the pastries. Opted for a Latté to end.A special mention to the manager – Nitin. Thanks to him, if not the staff did not seem well informed of what we had on offer and would possibly send us home almost hungry and discontent. So Nitin deserves a shout out for saving our day!Would I go again? For paying the price of AED 200 with the above inclusive, perhaps not. I’d get a nice brunch for that price. Plus the ambiance, I don’t want to be sitting in the lobby of a hotel to enjoy a lovely Afternoon Tea.
Following a few phone calls to the amazing Manageress at Palm Court Lobby Lounge we found ourselves all present and correct in a secluded corner of the lounge, with a stunning view of the Burj Al Arab as our back drop. I had deliberately booked afternoon tea at 4 pm as the sun would be coming down and the seating area would soon be shaded. We chose to dine indoors, there is however a great outdoor terrace. We wasted no time in placing our orders and it wasn’t long before the drinks were served, followed by a succession of miniature sandwiches. Following the delightful sandwiches we were presented with warm scones with cream and jam (two each), and finally a plate crammed full with chocolate cakes, mini lemon meringues, raspberry sponges and other sweet offerings. Everything was beautifully presented and displayed in mock bird cages, faultless. Thank you to the team at Palm Court for making it a memorable and very special experience. therealgeordiearmani.com
I was invited to quaff some tea this afternoon. As you all know by now i am a tea connoisseur so i am going to critisize this place fairly. Really gutted though since it was a disappointment coming from Jumeirah and the staff are extemely friendly. You ate welcome with some salted nuts along with your mocktails. The passion fruit was extremely refreshing but the black dragon was too sweet it felt like drinking liquid grape lollipop. The tea starts off good. I had the white silver needle. Not as flavorful as should be but ok. The second and third cup becomes really bitter asbit oversteeps. They keep the tea bag inside which is a huge mistake. The tea also gets colder in the pot. Scones were very dry and average. The spread was ok but a bit on the buttery side. No clotted cream nor tea jelly! The sandwiches were really bad and oversized. Grocery bought condiments standard. Sweets were also extremely average for Jumeirah. They seemed like leftovers from their buffet. The tea macaroons though were so good they could of came from another planet. This court holds a lot of inconsistencies but great potential if they knew how to brew a right cuppa!
Environment is good, especially when sit at outside under the greens and listen to the live music nearby,it’s a good experience. However the afternoon tea just ok, personally think the scones in Palm court not good at all.
Palm court is café located in one of the trending 5 star hotels of Dubai, Jumeriah Beach Hotel. It offers a peaceful atmosphere with a fine dine experience. I had gone for an evening time coffee with my mom. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. As it was winter when I visited, we chose to sit outdoor and another reason to choose this is because of the mesmerizing view of the Burj Al Arab. Even though it was outdoor seating, the table and cushion were clean. The choice of colors added much to ambience. The table had a glowing glass instead of candles on the center of the table. We placed the order for a Paradise Island Mocktail and a Nero Bellante. The staff proactively explained each ingredient in both these drink. Paradise Island Mocktail was a blend of pomegranate and passion fruit seeds with apple syrup. The drink was priced Aed 40. The Nero Ballante drink was a warm blend of espresso and hazelnut syrup; priced Aed 40. As the temperature dropped and it began to get cold; we chose to move back indoors They served a bowl of fresh dry fruits and nuts. The bowl comprised of crispy almonds, peanuts and much more. Along with the drinks they also offered almond cookies and I must it was just outstanding. The cookies had a very unique taste; it was chewy and gooey with almond flakes on the outer covering. The key highlights of this spot would be as mentioned would be the quite atmosphere with a unique view and the live instrument music played which added a lot to the soothing and peaceful atmosphere
