I went here on an early morning for a business breakfast with a client. Nice place with good views of the course. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The waiter Saad was helpful and polite. The coffee took about 20 minutes, albeit being a regular black coffee. What was surprising was the bill. There was an overcharge – I thought it may have been a genuine mistake. After pointing this out to another waiter, she corrected it but was impolite. She did not bother to apologize for the mistake, or, her rude behavior. You expect quality service when visiting a restaurant of this calibre, especially for a business breakfast with a client. However, that was not the case. After asking to speak to the manager, I waited for a few minutes. I saw him from afar, yet my request to address the service was overlooked. I was informed he was busy. I am a regular at other golf clubs. I have not seen this level of appalling service before. Perhaps, it is just my experience, but it’s best to avoid a restaurant with mediocre food, slow service and disrespectful staff.
Ranches Restaurant is nicely decorated with a modern vibe. I understand that it has recently (1-2 years ago) been renovated.We were a large group and instead of assigning us 2 servers on an otherwise quiet lunch time – they only assigned us 1 server. I felt bad for the gentleman as he was trying to get us the appetizers, mains, drinks and kids food all by his tired self. The food was as expected – some cold some lukewarm.The place has real potential. With a good chef and some attention to manage and inspire the staff it could be a real gem especially for residents of Ranches or nearby communities.
We have been going there since 2011 I have always liked their nachos but last night I went with a friend and we ordered margarita with some other food items, the pizza was the worst pizza I had in my life, I can easily get a better frozen pizza from grocery store and heat it in oven and it will still taste better. I can’t explain how disappointing it was as I said it was the worst pizza I have ever had, DO ANYTHING BUT DONT ORDER PIZZA.
Of all golf courses’ restaurants/cafes we’ve been to worlwide, this place is appalling and disappointing. If you are Asian and your husband plays the tournament and need to play at their courses do not ever dine or wait here. I’ve asked for a table with visibility to children play area to be able to look after my daughter while dining but with horrible experience. The first time Ive asked a wait staff for a table said “let me ask” then left yet assisted other guests while looking at me from head to toe and never came back to update or explain if tables were reserved or whatsoever. Ive seen other guests dine, left and randomly sat on the same area of the restaurant. Thinking it is okay to get a table as there are so many available, Ive asked the wait staff while he was cleaning then replied “ I will ask” “how many are you?” this is the second time Ive asked but with the same response and yet wait staff never came back to me so does it matter? There are so many tables available at the time. With my patience wearing thin, Ive asked for the manager, after 10 minutes he approached and tried to assist but Ive already lost my appetite and I told him I just wanted to address the staffs incompetence to assist or state whatever your dining rules are if that area is reserved or exclusive for ranches residents or groups only then I would understand but to never get back to you but seeing you waiting with their judging looks plus a group of racist listening and cracking themselves having fun about the whole scene is horrible. If not only for my daughter and husband I wont choose that place to go to anyway. In my 17 years of living in Dubai, this is the worst restaurant of all and the most racist crowd you’ll ever encounter. Your fingers are not the same or are they?
I love this place it’s full of fresh air. The scenery is superb. Their cocktails are solo good, best crushed ice strawberry margarita in UAE! Their food is so good too! I took my guests from Turkey there and they loved it too!
