Stayed for a short trip here in Fujairah and we were looking for a nice restaurant to eat, we found Arous Al Bahar while walking around the city. The ambiance of the place is so nice and cozy. The waitress named Rhoda was so approachable and attended to our needs very well. The food was delicious and affordable for a very beautiful restaurant like that. Overall, the place is recommendable.
We found Arous al Bahar by wandering around the streets next to our hotel in Fujairah. What a find! This restaurant specializes in local Arabic dishes. There are many families, local and expat, mixing here. In a word, the cuisine is simple, straightforward and superb. We went here only once, on a Saturday night and were impressed even by the appetizer assortment of wonderful olives, fresh from the brine, very fresh salad, and terrific humus and moutabel. Of course you’ve had these before, but there is much to be said for a reliable rendition of an old favorite. We were four people and ordered the mixed grill for 120 dirhams. It was piled high on the platter, with lamb, chicken and beef kabob, and also a variant of what the Turks call Lamahcun, or meat-stuffed pita with spices. This was enough food for six adults. The service is great: cheerful, happy and eager to please. All right, the place’s decor is sort of like your grandmother’s formal dining room with its curtains and chandeliers and it’s very clean. There is no reason at all to pay good money for bland hotel food when you can eat in places like Arous al Bahar. Skip the hotel meal plan and come here. You won’t regret it. And don’t miss the Arabic coffee urn fountain in the roundabout opposite. It’s beautiful and very much part of the welcoming, pre-gentrified atmosphere that pervades the lovely seaside town of Fujairah.
