Been here for lunch. Food was average only. The service was not impressive. The staff is helping but a bit confused group. A small restaurant and nothing to say about ambience.
I am not here to write regarding the food, but the great job this team is doing. This restaurant is serving food for people who can’t afford to buy by them-self. Even-though food tastes average, during special occasions in our family, my mother insists us to to drive down to Khorfakkan from Ajman only to pay a visit and offer whatever we can from our limits.Lots of wishes to New Calicut Team and Siddique Ikka who is running the restaurant.
A very basic restaurant that serve malabar food. The quantity is in plentiful. The price is moderate and taste is nice. The seating, plates and service standards are very basic.
Hello Foodies! This review is probably my first one i have felt that I ought to let the people know about what the food is like here and what they do beyond serving food.My family as in bro, dad and mom went to Khorfakkan on the 3 day break for National day, it was a Friday afternoon around 3PM just when their major rush for lunch was over. I had a gut feeling that this was the same place I had seen on TV where the owner has opened up this place from around the 1970’s, pitched it with dad and we just left it off. We ordered the Mutton Biryani, few Kerala Parottas, Roti, 2 Ney Meen Fry(King Fish), 2 Sheeri’s. The place looks like a typical cafeteria from around Dubai, i would definitely say dont expect ambience. But the food, brilliant, it was epic and had the authentic Kerala taste. The king fish and sheris had different masalas over them with more of onions and slight gravy to get the juicy taste. We then finished off all the dishes as they were amazing and then had a Sulaimani(Black Tea) and we were done. Just as my dad paid the bill, he noticed the paper clippings and few old photos of the owner and the shop and to just then the owner stepped in, Siddique’ka, both my dad n he had spoke and we got to know that they had just served 150 people free lunch a few hours ago. One of the most generous Samaritans i have seen till date, who has been doing this since the last 4 decades. Please do visit this place and try out the dishes here. This surely justifies the rating they get! 😀
Good morning to you all beautiful people!!! This review is going to be quite unique and special. And I’m happy for being the 1st one to write about this small time-big hearted restaurant. The rating I have given is completely biased, only for their great feasance. This restaurant does not have great Ambience or 5 star quality food but they do something which no other restaurant does as of I have heard of. What they do??? They serve FREE FOOD for anybody who is HUNGRY and you don’t have to pay them a single fils. They have been running this restaurant for more than 45yrs feeding upto 100 people/day for all the 365 days. And they are supported by the local Arabs who sponsor this great deed. It is them to have instructed the restaurant owner not to send anybody with empty stomach. And they trust this hotel so much that they never check for their ledger.https://youtu.be/ftafGYOan5Ihttps://youtu.be/yj1bxzaHtu8My apologies for those who doesn’t understand the language. Hope more restaurants lead this path. Smakelijk 🙂
