  A welcome new restaurant in Hall Green!. Having heard several favourable comments on this ‘new’ Indian restaurant, my wife and I went there on Saturday evening (4 October, 2014). It was surprisingly empty for a Saturday, which is a pity because it is definitely worth a visit; and, like us, I think you’ll want to go again! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food that we had, at least, was better than most other places around. It all seems to have an ‘extra’ quality, which could be authenticity, and was not highly coloured with E-numbers . . The naans were hot, fresh and soft inside, but crispy outside. Hopefully it fills up later, some tables were Reserved. Two comments: the type on the very large menu is too small, especially for older people in rather dim light — our eyes let in less light as you age, you know!. As one side is just a graphic, the menu could easily be spread over both sides, at twice the type-size (and perhaps folded in half, making it more manageable). And the music was just a tad loud, though at least it was ‘ethnic’, not modern pop!

  AMAZING Indian food. Makhani choose is to DIE for! Went with family and the service was great but a bit slow apart from that we had a great dining experience. I asked for chicken tikka masala last time I was there and it wasn’t the English version – it was very authentic and full of flavor!

  Very Impressive!!. We decided to go to Sanskrit on a whim, always looked nice from the outside and the online menu seemed impressive and good value for money… we were not let down in the slightest!! The food was wonderful, sheek kebab starter, chicken jalfrezi and chicken korma mains. The food was fresh, piping hot and delicious. I really like that they served the naan bread covered so that it stayed warm, and the curry dishes were kept on individual candles to keep them heated – a lovely touch. We will definately be returning soon – thank you Sanskrit.

  My partner and I visited Sanskrit on the evening of 28/11/2011. I suffer from Multiple Sclerosis and found the layout and the help I recieved from the staff wonderfull. I have eaten Indian Cuisine all over the world. Including India. I was very impressed by the quality both in presentation and in taste. I had a Mari Murgh starter. My partner had Murgh Malai. We knew from that moment on we had found a quality restaurant. The ambiance, the food, the attentive staff were excellent. We intend to return as often as possible.

  Friendly & good food. Hall Green needed the introduction of a decent, modern curry restaurant. The decor is smart and clean and the staff (often the husband and wife team) are friendly and welcoming.The food is generally very good though we haven’t sampled all of the menu.We have been 4 times so far and consider it the best Indian food along with the restaurant at the nearby Horseshoes pub which also serves excellent Indian food. The Purple Rooms is probably the longest standing indian on this parade of shops and has many fans but for me this is a more modern experience and has moved cooking into a higher bracket.
