  My wife is Asian and is very knowledgeable about Chinese cuisine, she rates fortune House as one of the better Chinese take-aways in Ponte.The staff have always been courteous, friendly and efficient, and the food has usually been excellent.Obviously these reviews are very subjective and one bad meal can sour your whole experience. Maybe some of your other reviewers were just unlucky?

  What a terrible disappointment for my first meal from Fortune House. I had the chicken and beef Zung Ho, a spicy dish….however, it was inedible. The sauce was like a khaki frogspawn, obviously thickened to within an inch of its life with cornflour…ghastly, it stuck to the plate and fork and needed a scourer to dislodge it after throwing the contents of the plate into the bin. The beef was unchewable and the chicken neither resembled nor tasted like any chicken i have ever eaten anywhere in the world. It was, I suspect, defrosted, boiled chicken slices packed in some country outside the UK where the poor creatures have had a miserable existence before being bagged. What a tragedy to have to throw food away. It could have been so much better if they had used fresh chicken and prepared it as the Chinese eat it themselves, as I cant believe they would consume the jellified, calorie laden, offering we were served. I dont want cheap, I want edible ! Please Fortune House, sort it out before you drive your customers away!!

  I don’t know what Jayne Safhill was trying to say but the meals at Fortune House are amazing, everything is on time, everything is gorgeous, all the staff are pleasant.

  Fortune chinese take away. Called in after evening out . They didnt complete the order, missed out one meal. The dishes tasted terrible and we had one mouthful and left it. the meat tasted fake. Weve had some really exellent take away chinese food and this has been the worst so far.

  Food is great and well priced. The Only problem is orders always have something missing which is a real pain traveling back to pick up forgot/missing dishes.
