It took 1 hour for the staff to serve poppodoms an pickles! After a further 30 minutes the starters arrived. My choice – butterfly king prawn, consisted of a single prawn coated in greasy batter (3.95) 2 hours after arriving the main course finally arrived and the waiter plonked the food on the table, dripping curry sauce over my trousers! Unfortunately I had lost my appetite by then and only managed half the main course. Although the food isn’t bad, the service is poor. This restaurant forgets to pay attention to the diner and overly focuses on take-away clients!

Go somewhere else!. I’ve visited this restaurant three times now and on each occasion the staff have not been that friendly or welcoming. Each time we were asked whether we had booked a table – when saying no, the waiters just look down their nose (even with a restaurant a quarter full). The food has been of varying quality. We also ordered a takeaway on a Sunday night in July – it took 1 hour 45 mins to arrive and was luke warm when received. We live ten minutes away from the restaurant, and it is especially annoying as they are the only Indian in the area that will deliver to us.We won’t be going back. These guys would do well to take a leaf out of the Grand Durbar’s book on Melton Road – fantastic service and food.
Great place to eat. I have eaten at the Restuarant on the weekends, buffet nights and also on Christmas day. I have never had a bad meal – always well cooked, flavoured to personal instructions when requested, friendly service. REMEMBER they fresh cook meals – therefore you have to wait a bit (which do you want – something cooked a week/month ago and frozen and defrosted – or fresh. I prefer fresh and a wait!Buffet nightsIf you go on a Tuesday and do not want the buffet you will have to wait – its buffet night. Try the buffet menu, it changes every couple of months and we manage to please a fussy family every time. Excellent value for money. It is very busy night – try and book. Christmas Day LunchCurry and Christmas dinner – we booked the first year because we had enjoyed buffet nights so much. 20 per person but had lots too eat and the whole purpose of eating out at Christmas is so I do not have to cook!
Leicester branch, Cropston road Anstey.. Average reception from well mannered staff but they all looked miserable and did not smile on our visit on 2/2/2010.Took well over half an hour to serve 3 individual starters. extremely small bland tasteless portions despite requesting hot dishes. We ordered drinks but they were really dilute and looked and tasted like water whilst doubles had been ordered. We paid 45 for 4 people for 3 starters and 6 drinks. The quality of food and presentation was poor.We were so dissapointed with service that we left having paid our bill and without ordering a main course and went to TIRANGA RESTAURANT ON MELTON ROAD were we treated like royalty and the food was excellent and well presented within 10 minutes of our arrival. If you want a real feast and taste of good quality food then the FEAST OF INDIA ,TIRANGA OR FLAMINGOS IS really the place to go for value for money and quality. At the Passage to india we were told Tuesday is buffet night and as we ordered from the menu and that was the reason for the delay after we asked how long our starter would be after about 35 minutes.the restaurant did not seem very busy. I would not go there again neither would recomend it to friendsOnly one member of staff appologised but did ask us if we even wanted anything else .
