About

The Bread & Bitter was officially opened by Barrie Judge on December 5th 2007. Back in 1991, Mr Judge shut his bakery on the same site. Now fully restored sixteen years later as a pub, his bakery ovens remain built into the wall in the central area of the pub, along with a "Brewers Graveyard", full of artefacts from closed down breweries of yesteryear. The unique stained glass bar area features eleven real ales plus a wide range of world beers on tap. The pub comprises of several sections, including the traditional bar area and the large conservatory, perfect for drinking or dining. Dogs are welcome at the Bread & Bitter, providing they are well behaved! We also boast a varied food and wine menu including our popular table service for Sunday lunch. We are more than happy to reduce portion sizes so children are very welcome. We look forward to welcoming you to The Bread very soon. Food service times are: Sunday 12pm - 7pm Monday-Saturday 10am-9pm
