This place is better than Oak-ay!. It’s rare to find a pub with such a friendly, country vibe within a city. Even more so when you consider that the Royal Oak is located on Gloucester Road. It also has a beer garden! Great selection of ales and ciders. Special mention to the house wine which is a cut above most pub offerings. The food is delicious. I say food but I really mean the steak, chips, salad and peppercorn sauce which I have every time I go in there (Thursday you can get 2x steaks, chips, salad and a bottle of house wine for 30). I would highly recommend.
