A great place in Preston ! Slightly too price for tapas !! Taste menu but with every single meal u must add a side order at a price of 6.00 per side! The sangria could be better with more fresh fruit once they charge 19 per large Jug of sangria ! Again the food was lovely just wish was a little more reasonable in price wise
Disappointed. Was taken to Duck by a friend so decided to go again after a great meal. Unfortunately was shut on Monday so went to Pond. As we walked through the door the staff continued to talk to each other and didn’t greet us. We asked for a table, but weren’t given menus until we were asked for our order. After about 10 minutes we were told they had no chickpeas for the chickpea salad or any pears for the pear salad. These are hardly very perishable items and indicate poor stock control. We chose different options but then immediately received our meat dishes. The lamg was good but the Argentina beef was bland and two pieces were like boot leather. The potatoes sauteed in rosemary and garlic were burnt and had been reheated in a microwave so were very soggy. The mushrooms in a lemon glaze were barely cooked and the glaze was unreduced juices. If a friend had have cooked it I would have said it was nice, but it was not the work of a professional chef. When it came to paying the waiter announced they had no credit card facilities. We protested and got a substantial reduction on the bill. All in all a pretty poor showing. The waiters and chef both need to pull their socks up but the real blame must be on the management for lack of training, control and organisation.
Not impressed since the move. Went a a few weeks ago after the move and service was a bit shoddy. Had a wobbly table which took three times to ask before it was corrected. We were not aked ios we wanted any more drinks when we had finished. Had to send the prawns back as they had a greyish undercooked hue and the potatoes as they where either hard or not fresh. We waited and waited and they didn’t ever come back to us even when the restaurant manager said. Ohh have n’t you got the prawns back yet. we waited another 10 mins by this time we had finished everything else and had to get out of our seats to go and ask someone. We decided not to bother and paid for what we had had and left. I have been to the smaller pond and It was better service and food. Won’t go back but I do hope they try to train the staff a bit better so no one else is put off as It is a good concept.
Fantastic!. Even though we arrived late the staff were very courteous and still accommodated us.The food was delicious, reasonably priced & there was a good atmosphere. I will certainly be visiting again soon.
When to pond’s new place on sat, totally brill, looks lovely, food still great…
Disappointing and bad maths!. 9 of us went to Pond on Saturday night, it’s been booked for months, deposit paid etc. I have been before and beeb quite happy as I am vegetarian the options are good Howevr, after an evening of ‘ok’ service, incorrect menu advice, conflicting info from very young waiters we were teetering on the edge of disappointment. However, once the bill came we thought it seemed expensive, asked for an itemised drinks bill and guess what 4 extra bottles of 20ish wine added. Once pointed out this was knocked off but no apology. I am really disappointed and can’t help wondering why and who added extras to the list. I have had good food there but watch out for your bills!
