  Not Safe for Coeliacs/NCGS Sufferers. Glutened!!!I visited the The Cafe Bar, Winckley Street for lunch today and was very clear before we even sat down that I could not have gluten to give them the opportunity to say if that would be an issue.Waiting staff were not clear on what gluten was but were amendment that they had checked that all of the food I ordered was gluten free and had told the chef.This obviously was not the case.I would recommend anyone with specific dietary needs avoid this place as they obviously have very little interest in making sure you are not made ill by their food.

  Just ok. I 1st went to the cafe bar a few years ago for a staff night out and it was brill, i went a few weeks ago with my husband and it was sweet, very relaxed and ok, we felt the food was microwaved, but still nice, i went other night with the girls for a change and its was not so great, service was as lovely as always, just wasnt up to scratch, hopefully was just a off night for you guys coz its such a nice little place.

  Great value for money. I have been a regular customer of the Cafe bar for the past ten years and have never had a bad experience. I have always found the food to be delicious and great value for money, no hidden costs. The staff are always friendly and couldn’t be more helpful especially when I take in my children. I have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and my graduation and spent countless Saturday afternoons after a hard day shopping relaxing with a glass of wine and a pizza, guilt free at 3.95 for pizza and pasta.

  WARNING — AVOID. There can be no knocking the food it was excellent. However the customer service was absolutely appalling. They lie and misadvertise their offers. We ordered two pizzas (no seafood) on their so-called special offer – all pizzas and pastas for 3.95 (excluding seafood dishes). When we got the bill we had to pay a 1.95 supplement. When I queried this the ‘manager’ said in an unpleasant tone – you had an expensive pizza, and then walked away from us. When we explained that no-where on the menu had it said that this pizza was excluded he threw the money back at us and told us to go and not come back, he barred us from the restaurant!!!! When we then demanded the service charge back he initially refused to give it to us, when I stated to call the police, the threw that at me too. He then repeated that we were banned and took a photograph of us!!! Yes we called the police! Complete nightmare, avoid at all costs.
