Great little cafe! We went here while visiting London on a friends recommendation. Their toasted sandwiches are delicious and their coffee is definitely one of the best we tried while in London, we found it really difficult to find decent coffee in the UK so were pretty happy to find this place!
Love this place!

A fun caf in the centre of Balham with retro school desks in place of tables. The owners have gone a bit hard on the ‘local, independent caf’ branding, but the coffee is good (certainly a step up from the chains), and the atmosphere lively without being too intrusive. Free WiFi and excellent muffins.
Great place!. I can honestly say we had one of the nicest afternoons here.. This coffee shop is so different and quirky, with friendly staff and lovely atmosphere (they candle light the place from 5.00pm) ! The food and cakes look and taste scrumptious and these guys know what they are doing when it comes to coffee. Thumbs up all round..A must to visit. Well done guys. I just wish you’d open a Bertie and Boo in Islington. Tom and Lara.08 Nov, 2010Loved it!. Charming and a touch of Personality08 Nov 10, 10:11 Beyond expectations I was in Balham High Street on business and needed a place to sit, drink coffee and abuse a wifi connection. Normally I go for one of the big chain cafs but I gave these guys a go and wasn’t disappointed. The staff were friendly and you could tell they enjoyed working their rather than give the blank eyed stare of somebody trapped in a McJob. The decor was whimiscal (there’s a word I rarely use!), apparently it’s owned by a family of children’s entertainers and they’ve certainly let some of that magic spill over into the caf, even the cupcakes sparkled with fairy dust! I had a generous mocha and some delightful carrot cake to help it down with and spent two hours answering my emails without feeling I was being rushed on to make way for more customers. A lovely place and it felt like a real family business with a sense of pride rather than a monolithic brand with 8000 locations around the world all the same.
Friendly staff. Try the home made chocolate cake. Excellent
