Awful service, even worse food. Went here as creams was full. And i am not a big fan of creams. But cakes and shakes, had shabby menus, staff whose smiles became scowls if u had to spend a little time to think. The recommended cakes were the ginger cake and strawberry cheescake. The strawberry cheesecake base tasted a bit off and the top was spongy like it had been it fridge too long.. And pretty tasteless and being too nice i didnt complain. Now i have a bad tummy! If i could i would go and use their toilet.. They also disguise their tasteless softscoop with sauce.. Never coming here again. And a waste of my money.. And a day off work grrr
Ordered 2x red velvet cake which were very tasteless and bland. It was not worth the price paid and you’ll be better off buying a whole red velvet cake from a supermarket for a fraction of a price than pay the amount here for a slice which does not taste good at all. Also bought a chocolate cookie dough which was by far the worst cookie dough ever. It was so bad that I had one bite and threw the rest away. And finally I had also bought a Ferraro Rocher milkshake. This did not taste like Ferraro Rocher at all. It was watery and tasted a bit like snickers, but bad. Also bought ice cream which was okay. Spent 18 here and regretted it. Guys, you are better off walking to Tinseltown or Creams just round the corner. Sorry Cakes and Shakes, you seem like good people but the food is awful!
While waiting for my bus, I coudn’t resist to have a taste of my favorite rainbow cake. Very nice and tastes good as usual, I’m a big fan of Cakes & Shakes, nice and calm place, excellent customer service, very friendly and jovial waiters. Will pop in again soonest!
Located just off Gants hill roundabout is this nicely decorated cosy cafe. The cafe specialises in a cakes and shakes.Behind the counter you will find a huge selection of chocolate bars and biscuits to add to your milkshake. The milkshakes are made from bars of chocolate such as oreo, ferrero rocher, galaxy, aero, crunchie .The shakes are really tasty ferrero rocher being my personal favourite. They also have a variety of cakes on offer and serve a variety of teas and coffees as well as baguettes, sandwiches and Paninis.Downsides though are price and location. Shakes are expensive costing approx 4 pounds each and parking is very limited.Overall however, the customer service is good, the milkshakes are really delicious and with the huge selection of flavours available you will surely find something to fix your every sweet tooth desire.
New York Cheesecake review.Mmmmm. Love me a good cheesecake i do. Tends to be my first choice if on a menu. Better make sure its a good one!! There are some shockers and I will make them known over time!!!Luckily for Cakes and Shakes its pretty decent.Good proportion of the cream cheese to biscuit base. Personally I didn’t need the ice cream on the side but that’s how it comes so can’t really complain. Great smooth texture and vanilla flavour on the cake and very good portion size too. Sweet but not overly so, which i like.Seems most people come for the shakes there, and I don’t blame them (who can resist a fererro milkshake) but the cakes are worth a go for sure. The other options on view looked really good too, and if not for my cheesecake addiction I may have been swayed.Gets busy in the evenings and queues can get long, especially on a weekend, but at odd times its fairly quiet with speedy service and decent prices. Good for a quick fix for sure.Score would be a 4.0 if the seating and tables were not shaggy/wobbly. No one likes to see the innards of a chair/sofa or spill their drinks because of wonky table legs, just saying.
I did enjoy the food however the customer service was not every helpful the price was very suitable and I did like this aspect of the restaurant.
Cakes and Shakes offer the best milkshakes and deserts in my opinion and are reasonably priced. Customer service is excellent and waiting time is not long. I LOVE IT
