Starter: King Scallops- Seared perfectly and tasted greatMain: Baked honey glazed whole Sea Bream- The bream was lovely and the marinade was just right as it wasn’t too sweet. You receive roughly 4/5 roast potatoes and pak choi….tbh by the time I got home i was really hungry again- but that could just be me! Lovely ambiance, especially at night with the lights looking over the Thames. Pricey but with the 50% applied when you buy two courses evens it out, because the foods not worth 50+ for just one course.
The Food was amazinggggggggggg! Beautiful location with great views. Visited the restaurant for my birthday and it was great! The prawns starter was mouth watering! As well as the main.I’m sure this won’t be the last time they’ll see me
Worst Service Ever. What should have been a special family occasion was ruined by the poor service. The restaurant was only half-full and yet the staff were confused dour and uncommunicative. Half way through our main course the wine had yet to arrive. To catch the waiters attention one of us had to leave our seat and chase around for one due to the stupid design of the space which created blind spots. While our steaks were getting cold we were told that someone had gone to the store-room to find our Pinot Noir only to be told 15 minutes later that they had none by which time it was hardly worth ordering another bottle as we’d nearly finished our steaks and had got some other wine off a fellow family member. Then wrong desserts kept on arriving. The cherry on the cake came when some people got their dessert and others were kept waiting again while in the background a row was going on between members of the staff somewhere near the kitchen. The food was adequate (my steak was over cooked but I let it pass) the ambience sterile seventies hotel. Only reason I can see this place has survived is its location on the river and people coming here thinking they are getting a bargain on some Groupon voucher scheme. The sooner this restaurant is consigned to the dustbin of history the better. A memorable night for all the wrong reasons which may have been relieved some if a pie fight had broken out. Avoid this place unless you want to take someone you don’t like out to dinner.
The service was very good, the staff attentive and friendly. The quality of sandwiches and cakes was excellent, lovely scones, clotted cream, pastries and chocolates. Far too much was served but they were happy for me to take away some of the food that we had not touched, and kindly popped a few extra bits in the bag! This hotel would be ideal for a visit during a sunny day, as it has a lovely terrace right on the river.Must gooooo!!!!
No so Afternoon Tea. Went along under a Groupon afternoon tea deal (tea’s normally 60 for 2). Arrived and could park for free on site…a good start.Bearing in mind that I thought the premise behind Groupon was to generate repeat customers and positive chatter. What followed demonstrates that one’s impressions can be misleading. Stale sandwiches were sent back, to be replaced by more stale offerings. The cakes were obviously bought in and weren’t particularly good quality, one each of the following, scone, cup cake (teeth shatteringly sweet) and a couple of petit fours. The presentation of all the food which costs nothing was poor at best.Won’t be rushing back at all, may stop for a drink if cycling past along the river.
Ok but not super. The doorman who greeted us was really kind and made us feel welcome. The food was quite OK and well prepared. The service though really lacked. They did not notice we wanted two glasses of Cava and only gave us one. There were no napkins, and when asking about the cheese the answer was poor and not informative.
