I was pretty underwhelmed by this place. I have heard good things so will give it another chance. But i went for brunch and it was average at best. Only ok coffee, very average bacon buttie and pricey for what it was.I will try it for dinner as I am sure their meat is good, but a shame as prime brunch venue really!
So, this is very close to a friend’s place who didn’t know we were largely vegetarian. Largely being the operative word.I had the only vegetarian thing on the menu – risotto – and it was perfect. Not too sticky. The grilled chicken was good too. Duck confit, beef burgers all had happy customers at my table.Highlight is the cucumber martini. Best drink. MUST have.Also, the toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream is just lovely. Don’t go home without trying it. Super flavour. :)Worth going there on a gloomy London day for sure. 🙂
Great idea, great food. A recent meal here was excellent – outstanding onglet. Service was friendly and casual as befits the place. And the bill was less that I’d imagined – I’ll be back!
Very slow service every time I’ve been there. Very disorganized service: forgetting items, losing orders, etc.09 May, 2010Both times here, the service has been terrible. Today, the food arrived exactly one hour and eleven minutes after we ordered it.
Huge disappointment. We went there for breakfast after reading pretty good reviews online. Food was very slow to arrive, salty beyond belief, black pudding burnt so badly that it was inedible and wet bacon. A huge disappointment and not a cheap one!

Usually very good. I’ve dined here on several occasions over the last couple of years and on the whole found it very satisfying all round for both large and smaller groups. Good food and wine list at a very reasonable price for the level of dining. Beware the ‘Charcuterie board’ sharing starter, it’s huge – even for two!On my most recent visit the service was very slow, however, and the more frustratingly the explanation was that It wasn’t their fault as they didn’t expect it to be busy that night – a simple appology would have sufficed but instead I left feeling irritated.I will rerurn as it deserves another chance to impress due to previous form.
