Dont be put off by the name, or selling point, of the afternoon tea at RAW it may be guilt free and vegan but its delicious and satisfying nonetheless. Located inside boutique hotel La Suite West (just over the road from Bayswater tube station) visitors are greeted at the front desk with a complementary smoothie of the day on the day I went it was pear, apple and lemon, and was lovely. Service excels from the moment you walk in.You can choose whether to take your tea indoors or outside. Despite its location, the outside seating area is peaceful and relaxing, as it faces onto an attractive residential area rather than the main road. The afternoon tea itself is priced at 27 per person. For that you get a glass of non alcoholic fizz (RAW doesnt serve alcohol), and as much loose leaf tea (in varying flavours) and coffee as you like, as well as, of course the nibbles. The selection of finger sandwiches have interesting fillings; my favourites were avocado chilli mousse with rocket and roast tomato with sunflower seed pesto. Of the canapes, the hummus on gluten free bread were surprisingly moreish, and I would never have guessed that the cheese in the filo pastry bites with asparagus was actually made of almonds! It was unanimously agreed amongst my group that the highlight were the scones homemade and served with strawberries and whipped coconut cream , they were light and not too filling. The desserts were also surprisingly good the sticky toffee and chocolate fudge cake bites were decadent and as good as any dairy version I can think of. And the mini squares of lemon cake topped with cacao cream, coconut and pomegranate… Im convinced the cacao cream was Nutella! For an unhealthy eating, heavy meat eater, I was really surprised how impressed I was by RAW. They certainly challenged the misconception that vegan food has to be boring! I will definitely be going back for dinner sometime.

Very disappointing dining experience. The restaurant is located in a hotel and we had to ask the staff where the restaurant was on three different occasions. Only one other table was occupied on a Sat night and there was no waiter – we literally waited 20 mins for the one single waiter to come and serve us. Food took a ridiculously long time to prepare. Items were missing ingredients stated in the menu eg the mushroom soup was supposed to have buckwheat noodles. Otherwise, the food was average at most – plenty of better options around. The deserts were gross. Not even sure if they were healthy? Ambience / vibe shocking, could have been eating in a hotel room, was literally dead. Service incredibly slow and inefficient. Most appalling was the 45 bill for one of our worst dining experiences. We didn’t even order any drinks. Won’t be back ever.

A fail from the moment we arrived. Dead ambiance, no one around, we weren’t even sure it was a restaurant when we arrived the room is so weird. No waiters to be seen on arrival, after waiting a while we asked reception to get someone to serve us. Took ages to prepare RAW food?! And they started setting up for breakfast while we were still there having dinner – way to rush your customers out. Food overall quite flavorless, everything could have used more salt. The dessert tasting plate wasn’t wow, one dessert seemed more like a breakfast too. Way overpriced for what we got. Won’t be back, not worth it if you’re looking for a good raw vegan experience.

Serving really fresh, healthy yummy food. It’s not that raw, so don’t be put off by that. The papaya papardelle main and cauliflower samosa starter are delicious and yummy complimentary truffles to round off our meal make it even more enjoyable. There are a few places in London but this was the only one who could offer dairy free options for a decent price!I quite like the atmosphere and the attentive staffs.
