Why is there no ZERO rating ?Been only once , and each time I pass by I ask myself, why does this place still exist ?Got nothing to say against the food, because is pretty good, even if the portions are not existent, my 1 rating is for the staff, most of all a waitress that shouted at us when according to her the food we ordered was not enough. We were three, my mother, my husband and me (pregnant) .I told her little lady, this is not your business, we order what we want .She kept shouting that ”by law” must be 10 Pounds minimum per person, I said where was this law signed, Buckingham Palace or Downing Street ?She said you must order something else , I said fine call the manager we will see how quickly you will change your attitude and stop shouting at people .Manager came, took our order without mental problems , and food started coming after 3 minutes .

I do enjoy the food at Tawana Thai and when I’m craving a spicy but wholesome soup, I end up at either Tawana Thai or C&R Malaysian further down the road.I quite enjoy the food here. I have never been able to taste the rd and green curries because they are pre ground with shrimp paste (allergies), but the staff is always helpful with suggestions.I’m addicted to their chicken Tom kha ghai soup and could drink it twice a day without any meat in it and that’s saying a lot! The other dishes are a bit hit and miss. Family love their green and red curries. Their dim sum are good, but most come with prawns or shrimp in them, so I personally haven’t tried too many.I love the barbecued pork with its tamarind dipping sauce and the iced coffee with milk. I would stay away from the deep fried dishes though like the pandan wrapped chicken and others. The sweet corn fritters are lovely though.I just remembered that this was the first place we ate at after moving to London and picking up groceries next door. And it was an auspicious start to 100’s of amazing food experiences in this city! on.fb.me
